Made another couple of videos if anyone's interested, not of the cupra this time but one of a Ford Focus RS being worked on by my friend's car detailing business and one of my new bike:

Focus RS detailing : http://vimeo.com/64919005
Suzuki GSXR1000Z : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=teG3yduaFuI

I did ask my friend that runs the detailing service if he would be happy to give a discount to members of this forum and he said he would, so if anyone's interested just let me know. Hope this isn't seen as inappropriate advertising or anything lol

Also someone else I know has just bought a brand new Nissan GTR so I'm hoping to do a proper video of that soon :)

I know this is an old thread but I got a new car a couple of days ago (BMW M3, still got the Cupra as well though) and I made a very brief video that I thought a few people on here would appreciate... mainly the people that told me off for not looking after the tyres on my Cupra ;)

Sorry :D

EDIT: Oh and I got my friend to clean it again and made a full video of that, so for the people that enjoyed my videos in general rather than just the Cupra ones you can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fsob96BXnUU

Smart lad fooook pal. Love the M3.

How come you decided to keep the cupra aswell?

Thanks :) I kept the cupra as well because I'm hoping I'll be able to afford an Audi R8 next year and that will replace the M3, so what with the R8 being a 2 seater with not much space I figured I'd still need a practical 5 door car as well - so that's what the cupra will be for. No point selling it and buying another practical car when I'd lose quite a bit of money on it cos I've had it from new, and I really like it :) Even though the M3 is obviously faster, the cupra feels just as quick cos of the punch from the turbo

Audi R8 is another league. Lol. How old you looking on R8, serious wonga for them. Would love to afford a Cupra R never mind an M3 or R8 haha.

Well I test drove a V8 R8 and to be honest wasn't that impressed, considering how expensive they are it was only the same speed as the M3 and not quite as fun because its 4 wheel drive rather than rear wheel drive only. So if I do get one I think it would have to be a V10, but yeah even the cheapest V10s are like 60 grand, so its going to take me a while to save up lol which is why I bought the M3 to keep me entertained in the meantime :)

I've driven a V8 Audi R8 and agree with you, just didn't feel fast, felt quite nice to drive but if I was paying actual money I'd want something better than quite nice.

Thank you! I've been saying this to my friends since I drove the R8 and they think I'm weird lol I honestly felt like my remapped cupra had way more punch than the R8, even though the R8 definitely got up to speed faster... you just couldn't really feel it. Its kind of similar in the M3 but I didn't get that for straight line speed (even though it is pretty rapid), I got that for rear wheel drive fun. I love the look of the R8 so much though, so I'm hoping the V10 can make up for the lack of punch with an extra 100 BHP or so over the V8.

Nah I'm right there with you bud, I don't know if its just the fact that there was no real drama or what, but it just didn't seem to kick me in the back when I buried the loud pedal, I swear my Ibiza at the time felt quicker even though I know it wasn't.

It's hard to put your finger on why it doesn't feel special to drive but it just seems lacking that little bit of zing.

I work for Porsche and have driven most of the models on the track and a family friend was looking for a new car. He tried Nissan GTR, Audi R8 V10, BMW M6, C63 AMG, I told him to come in and try the C4S and 997 Turbo S and he said even the C4S felt as fast and stable on the road and the Turbo S blew him out of the water.

He bought the Turbo S and had out an order in for a new 991 Turbo S which gets delivered in about 8 days they've just left the factory. I haven't driven this one yet only salesmen and with the rear wheel steering, active aero dynamics nothing gets close.

When they drove it down at silverstone they had the new Jaguar F Tyrone there, Mclaren MP4-12C, Ferrari 458 and nothing could get close. Grips like sh*t on a stick and with launch control your 80mph+ before you can say 'Lady Godiva'

You probably don't like Porsches just thought I would out my two penneth out there.

Yeah I'm not the biggest porsche fan to be honest, I don't really dislike them or anything but they just don't appeal to me that much for some reason (possibly because they all look the same to me). I bet they are really great cars to drive like you say, but I don't think I'd ever buy one personally. Each to their own eh :)

Don't like Porsche myself either to be honest but I have driven a 997 Turbo, have to say it's an excellent car to drive, nice power delivery, stable 4wd and as much as they all look the same there is something about the 997 for me, don't know what it is but it just looks right.

Seriously mate drive one before you totally discount one.

Yeah they sound like a jet on launch control.

Supposed to be a completely different level compared to the 997 Turbo S.

I agree slightly saying they look the same. I did before I worked @ Porsche but because your with them everyday there's loads of things different which each one. And like they say 'it's revolution not evolution'
