No, as it is. Needs Bonnet, rear brake lines, handbrake cables and bulhead bracing for the slave

Well i now have a new tenant moved in my workshop, and have the car bug back again so will carry on with the conversion, but when we got there today, next door was working on a digger bucket with a big hammer and we had to resort to this:

So i put my feet up whilst Dean started on his WRX:

Dragged the polo out, before:

And after:

The dust was so thick i had to wash it twice. Pushed it back and got cracking:

So its back out so i can strengthen up the bulkhead, and sort a few other odds and sods out.

Im using the Vr clocks cheers. I presume i had to for the rev counter. I know in my Vauxhall days you had to use the V6 clocks when converting 4 pot Astras otherwise the rev counter would be out....

So today i dropped the column out:

Then the pedal box, and drew round it:

Got the plasma out:

And made:

Emo welded it to the pedal box:

IMG_8532.jpg

Then he made a lengthened rod for the servo as with the strengthening plate brought the pedal box forward 10mm:

IMG_8534.jpg

Then got the clutch pedal out:

IMG_8537.jpg

And made a secondary mount for the same reason as above:

The he contorted himself to fit it:

In between helping out, i tidied all the wiring up and mounted the fusebox and also made the tea lol

This morning i popped back up the workshop to tidy the Polo up. So started of fitting the front panel:

Then Emo popped round with what can only be described as a torture device to try and part the Escort drums:

IMG_8551.jpg

My god it went bang when it finally popped. It pulled the race over the bearing!!!! I proper cooked it, but i did drive 5 miles on a collapsed wheels bearing lol:

IMG_8553.jpg

Then carried on fitting up the Polo:

IMG_8555.jpg

Fitted a fan, but not wired in to the OE wiring yet:

IMG_8556.jpg

And pulled outside and ran up for 45 minutes:

IMG_8559.jpg

And a quick vid:

She's getting there:

IMG_8562.jpg

And tested all the lights:

And the VR clocks fitted:

Replacement drive shaft came tonight, so i need to get that fitted, then find a bonnet and grille, bleed the clutch up and have a test drive :)

Yes, hats off to you. I like v6 engines and had thought about a vr6 conversion in the future for my cordoba but wouldn't have the resources to modify pedal boxes and I think the loom splice would finish me off. Think I'll just stick to a big turbo.

Good work.

Ticked a few more jobs off today. Fitted the scuttle and wipers. Just need the plastic securing tags:

Then my mate Brian brought his sons Golf round to do some jobs:

IMG_8657.jpg

And while he was doing that i ran it up to temp so i could work out what wire did which for plumbing in the fan. Then I fitted the passat/golf steering wheel:

IMG_8660.jpg

Then the centre console gear gaitor and the gear knob as well as the cigarette lighter:

IMG_8661.jpg

Then fitted the glove box but the doors broken :(

Congratulations, have read this from the begining on various forums, never thought you would get it done! It does look pretty smart as well, not many people like the saloons, but I always have. I bet its a quick little car that suprises a few people!
After you get used to the power, I bet its time to charge it. Loved my Mk3 VR6, but it had to go to car heaven in the end.
