You need to see your EMP gauge (normal boost gauge up to 4-5bar) from the cabin, so drill a hole in the manifold and make thread in it (or weld a nut over it) and use some metal tubing before attaching rubber hose to it. Guide it to cabin or just windshield.

As I said, you only need it for mapping, so don't bother too much with it.

You've not seen it in action recently. I can send my VT5 in current tune well over 2.5 bar should I wish. I have be pretty careful on WOT to keep one eye on the road and the other eye on the boost gauge. People might start thinking I have a lazy eye soon.

I hope the Allards mapping will sort out the overboosting though.

When you said this

"(normal boost gauge up to 4-5bar)"

I thought you were inferring that EMPs were double that of boost. So EMPs shouldn't really exceed 2.5 bar either (as with turbo boost)

Once with gt2559v my van made 2,0bar EMP @ 1,5bar boost. With 1,7bar it made 5,5bar EMP. This is why you need to measure EMPs (and maybe have gauge up to 5 bar).

There's a optimum boost for every turbo and setup. This is a way to find it.

EMPs shouldn't be more than 0,5bar over boost. There's also a point where EMPs start to rise exponentially. With gt2559v I stayed with 1,5bar.

I got a snap of it peeking out from behind a driveshaft. :D I couldn't get a very good pic due to me having the car up on a scissor jack and me not wanting to get under it too far. Just stuck an arm in and shot & hoped. :D

We are going to put a new turbo on my friend's 1,9TDI. He ordered a turbo from 3,0TDI Audi. It makes 230hp in Audi and should be able to hit 280-300hp. Hopefully it's not too big for the low end power to disappear completely. We'll see...

what model is that?? I would have said that a turbo from a 3 liter would be too big for a 1.9,,, not?

the turbo will spool from over 2500 rpm...it's not so good, but good luck

Well, one guy here has gt2359v on his 1.6TD, so maybe we can live with this one. :D I haven't seen any dyno plot of it, but he claims that it's not so bad down low. I really suspect though.

I have the wheel out of 3.0TDI on my wife's Volvo S60 (2.4D) and it spools nicely around 1700rpm. We have decided to try it anyway.
