VW sharan 1.9tdi engine change AUY to ASZ

My friends vw sharan's cambelt has snaped causing the engine to go. Instead of stripping it down i told him just to change the engine as i have a asz engine from my ibiza he could take. as far as i am aware the engine should fit in the car but will the gearbox need to be changed as it is the EHH 6 speed gearbox and what else will be required
any help will be greatly appreiciated.

they're 2 different powered engines - the AUY is 115bhp and the ASZ is 130bhp, this may present an issue and yes the gearboxes will need swapping over as they are different (the ratios are totally different because the bammer box has to cope with pulling much more weight).

ASZ is 110BHP, init? Or is there a 130BHP variant too?

The 110 version is the ASV engine, its a none pd version with a hedgehog pump as fitted to mk1 alhambras.
