Tempted to do both the lower engine mount and SALK now- want to cut down the damn wheel hop as much as poss- would rather it just cleanly spin!!!

This weather mine just spins its only on the dry days it hops and it sounds so bad.
I'm just in the habit of lifting off then applying throttle again.
When I fitted my lower gearbox mount insert it did reduce this slightly.
If these SALK kits are as good as people say then I may try these next.

Side mounts and lower mount reduce hop by 95%, you occasionally get the odd hop but its barely noticeable. Havnt even felt the need to add an anti lift kit.

I keep thinking of getting mine mapped (stage 1 only), but what really puts me off is how it struggles to lay the power it has now, so adding another 50/60bhp+ seems mad at this time.

If i can get the car to a point where there's little to no hop and either the TC just cuts the power or it generally cleanly spins then i may opt for the remap, but not with it like it is atm. Ok extra power would help break traction easier and probably mean it would want to spin even more so, But i want to be able to use what i have more effectively before potentially adding more on top!

Well like ive just said get the full mounts done and you will have no hop. Maybe a tiny tiny bit in the wet but not noticeable unless you really concentrate.

Honestly one of the best mods i did by far!

I use BSH which are one of the harder options but cabin noise isnt an issue, tbh ive got used to them as ive had them on for about 2 years now so hard to say.

To be safe id go fo the THS mounts, alot of people have these and report similar benefits but less to no cabin noise increase.

There not exactly expensive either. Its the lower mount which effects cabin noise the most aswell.

The mount that Alex has recommended is the Vibratechnics one iirc and i have asked him to give me a quote for fitting both the lower mount and a SALK and do the re-alighnment afterward which i'll aim to have done early in the new year.

Had mine done almost a week now and whilst there is definitely more vibration being transmitted through/into the car the wheel hop issue has been greatly improved!!:D

It hasn't stopped it altogether, but it has cut it down significantly and made it want to cleanly spin more which i personally prefer, it's obviously also helped with traction too as obviously the wheels/tyres are in contact with the road more so it means you can use more of the power you have more effectively - which is exactly what i wanted these mods to do.

All in all i'm VERY happy with the money spent, Alex is a great guy - friendly, efficient & knows his stuff, I'd recommend him to anyone on my experience of dealing with him.

Fyi i had:-

SALK
Lower engine mounts & dogbone bush (Vibratechnics i think)
Full Geo check & re-alignment.

Yes the extra vibration IS noticeable straight away, but i personally have pretty much dialled it out for the most part already and tbh if it wasn't for me having a full Milltek system i suspect it would be even less noticeable. What i mean by that is that the car sounds more BOOMY inside now than it did before, & where-as before you may not have noticed it so much now it does sound like the engine is labouring more (say doing 30mph'ish in 5th/6th) because of the extra vibration being transmitted, Other than that it's a win-win as far as i'm concerned.
