A word of warning, check your fuel line (bottom one of the 3 pipes) it rubs against the edge of the charcoal filter...i'll try take pics tomorrow...

Mine split the other day while i was driving was pissing petrol all over the engine, could of gone BOOOOOMMMMM!!!

Anybody know the internal diameter of the silicon fuel line hose???

The one that connects straight onto the fuel rail on the left hand side of engine....

im not sure but they wouldn't even fix it under warranty!!! its an non-seat warranty that seat gave me when i bought the car, because apparently it doesn't cover silicon hoses...

so im gona replace it my self, but need to know the internal diameter, i've put a replacement on and it fit but i think its bit smaller than origional and i can feel a slight drop in performance, so need to go buy bigger proper stuff...

can you not measure the one your removing
your defintely best to get it right, getting too thin could increase the pressure even more and be more likely to fail

very worrying though, could of been alot worse, shall check this next time im under the bonnet

Here the pics to better explain...

These pics were taken after i put my replacement hose on and i put it in differently so that it wouldn't hang at the bottom and likely to rub again so please when you check your car make sure you check the correct one...

Yellow = the affected silicon line
Red circle = the edge of the charcoal filter that cause the split
Green circle= affected area of silicon hose

^easy peasy^

It is the small metal edge of the charcoal filter that points upwards which was cathing the bottom of the hose...

Hope this helps some of you...

And if your hose is affected you could try arguing with seat about it...

If you are going to replace the hose yourself, make sure you get the right diameter hose (when someone replies to this hopefully with a size), and you can replace it quite easily by just removing the hose clips at both ends, prob need to cut the old hose off the quick connector.

If you wanting to buy the hose from seat...(you get all 3 hoses seen in the pic and comes with quick connectors) you will be paying £39 i think...

Just to re-assure people but the temperature at which petrol spontaneously combusts is alot higher than people think. It would'nt set alight unless there was another source of ignition like a flame, or a rogue source of electrical sparks (and the right air/fuel proportions)

edit: temperatures here:

"2. What is the autoignition temperature of
a) Petrol 246°C
b) Diesel 210°C"

So for your petrol to autoignite there would need to be a part of your engine who's surface temperature exceeded 246°C. I don't think they get anywhere close to be honest......

i think u will find that parts of your engine get a lot hotter than that especially as turbos can go transparent when really hot and my exhaust gas temps were 850 degrees the other day and that has come down since i fitted the Blueflame, with the standard exhaust they were 940degrees

Just noticed a small error GTD86. Its the power steering reservoir that the pipe has been rubbing on rather than the charcoal filter you have been referring to which is next to the reservoir and closer to the wing.

I know this thread is really old but did a search as mine seems to have a leak somewhere. The pipe in yellow seems to be below the other two in my bay so much so that from looking at it you can only see the other two pipes. Is this normal on an lcr? The nearest injector seems to be wet around where it plugs in. Could this be the leak in the fuel line causing this?
