Hi guys,

Was using the washer jets to clean my windscreen yesterday when they suddenly cut out dead mid stream.

Neither front nor back will work for me any longer. I can also no longer hear the pump whirring, so i know its not just out of water.

Im hoping its a dead fuse and not the motor on the pump!

Does anyone know which fuse will be the one that needs replacing.

Im also ashamed to admit, but ive never had to go looking for it yet, that i dont know where the fuse panel is on my Leon . I had a quick look under the passenger and drivers side dash yesterday but nothing.

Under the bonnet maybe? :help:

Thanks

Mike

dont kno what fuse it is for the washers youl have to look in the manual for that, when you open the drivers door the fuse box is behind the panel at the end of the dash.

In the engine bay the black plastic box with lid has a selection of fuses in (refer to manual for details) and as above the end of the dash has a side panel on the drivers side that clips off to reveal more fuses. It's gotta be there somewhere!

Ok, so found both the fuse boxes but still have no idea which one might control the washer jets.

I read through the manual last night, but though it lists every other function under the sun, it doesnt list washer jets or anything that sound like it might be them.

The only 2 possibilities are 2 30 Amp fuses that say they are for "cleaning".

Do you think that might be them?

checks for puddles of water under the engine bay incase the main supply pipe has come off.

In the end i had to take this to a dealer to diagnose.

Turned out to be a broken pump motor.

Its just the one motor that supplies water jets to both front and rear via a switching point (id assumed there would have been two motors as with my previous cars but not on the VAGs apparently).

Had to be replaced, total cost was something like £190 for the part and the fitting and the diagnostics charge.

Unfotunately, it has to be done because its an MOT failure without the washers - sorry!
