Just wondered what products everyone uses when washing there car, and what method they use to clean it ?

I wash mine in Autoglym bodywork shampoo conditioner with a bucket and sponge, then rinse off with the hose and dry with autoglym aqua-dry cloth, then use autoglym super resin polish to finish and buff with a microfibre cloth, use autoglym leather cleaner on the seats and autoglym clean wheels as an alloy cleaner, combination of windolene and rain-x with a glass cloth for the windows

I use:-
CG Glossworkz and 2 bucket method, with 2 wash mitts
AG Clean wheels
AG Smooth surface kit
Meguires QD
AG SRP
Jet seal 109 x3 Coats
M QD again
Dodo Juice Purple Haze
Then 2 coats of CG Butter wet wax

autoglym bodywork shampoo with mit- wash
poor boys black hole- fills in paint
followed by a layer of collonite 915- paint protection
meguiars endurance tyre gel- sets the car of (and isn't messy)
is a very simple, quick and affordable way for a satisfactory detail

Good sites are detailing world and polished bliss for products and advice.

I use Autoglym all the time personally.

Bodywork Shampoo (spray the wheels with custom wheel cleaner)
Then dry off with a leather
Then use Paint Restorer (use about once a month)
polish up with super resin polish and the windows with glass polish inside and out
Auto tyre dresser on the tyres (also very good on the black plastic)

il try get some pictures up of my cars ive cleaned in the past

Ben

I snow foam first to get most of the dirt off then
Clean wheels with billberry wheel cleaner

If polishing I clay before using demon shine as a lubricant
Polish with poor boys ssr1/dodo juice lime prime
Wax with dodo juice purple haze
Finish up with dodo juice red mist

Indeed but my car is always mint i don't do all that most the time just if I'm polishing the car with the rotery most he time it's just foam wash wax then add a layer of detail spray afterwards to seal it all can't bear to see the car dirty lol

Dependant on my mood and how long its been since a polish or wax I'll do different things.

Normally (every weekend):

1 -Blast with the power washer and let it sit for a bit.
2- Whilst it's sitting liberally apply very cherry acid free wheel cleaner to the alloys and leave that to do its work.
3- Attack the car with Chemical Guys - Maxi Suds II shampoo using a lambs wool mitt and the 2 bucket method.
4- Give the wheel cleaner a quick agetate with a wheel brush.
5- Rinse off the whole car with the power washer.
6- Dry the car with my huge microfibre drying towel.
7- Apply a dressing to the tyres- Use the Autoglym stuff at the moment and don't like it. When it runs out I'll replace it.

Every 2 months

-Polish with Chemical Guys - P40 Polish and wax the car. I'm trying different waxes at the moment so haven't stuck at one.
-Get some apc to the engine bay
-Use Autosol metal polish and a damp brillo pad to shine up the exhaust tip.

Every 6 months:

Clay the car with Dodo Juice Basics of Bling

Some time soon:

- Get my new DA Polisher to it to take out the swirls and scratches I can't get to by hand.
- Buy a foam lance to speed up my weekly routine.

I usually use AG SRP, very easy on/off, occasionally use AG UDS aswell. Ordered some poorboys black hole the other day so will have to see what thats like, heard very good reviews about it though.
