can i put a external wastegate on to my standard turbo? its a leon 1.8 20v turbo, also dump valve i know it has to be a recirc one but was considering putting a spliter d/v one on are these any good?

thanks in advance

external waste gate pointless when it involves a lot of effort.

instead of messing with the 710n (DV) I would go down the induction kit route....Get a nice sounding chatter.

It was mentioned on here this week. Trying to think of the thread name. Was stated the maf can be bypassed and mapped to suit. Not machanically minded, so I'm only going by what people have done . I'll keep looking for the thread.

Just bought the car yesterday and duno where to start ha ha , looked at them but i didnt like the look of the price ( im a tight arse ) and with xmas round the corner there will properly be a forge one in the near future as hoping to give it a wee bit aggression under the bonnet

This!

Ditch the splitter and buy a decent DV from Forge like the 006/007/008

I've just reverted back to the Bosch plastic DV from my forge 007p while trying to troubleshoot a seperate issue and the difference is unreal, the car is much smoother, way more responsive and the urgency in 3rd and 4th has returned, seems to pull much stronger now.. So my advice is stick with the Bosch dv and get an open cone, I can still hear it dumping, not quite as loud as the forge but still definitely noticeable!

I agree with the above 100% and would never use a piston dv now. Diaphram is so much smoother and responsive IMO
