To the first question, 2 B5.5 Passats which are virtually identical in this area, I suffered the effects of 3 floods, in all cases the insulation was sodden.
Perhaps its different on Exeos but I cant see how the water gets from the plenum chamber across the floor without contacting the insulation which rests on the floor, whats the findings of other flood victims? was your insulation soaked?
If you have only been doing it for 30 years I say, there is still time to learn, son, listen to your elders.
I think you need to take a pill
Ah great a diy hobbler that thinks he is an expert who suffered 3 floods on 2 cars , didnt experience tell you anything ?
B5.5 have different floor pans too B6 and B7s ,
the water as ive already said runs in the pollen filter and down the bulkhead steel work ,
it in turn goes directly to the passengers floor pan
the foam and mats in a B5.5 passat are a lot thinner and are mounted directly to the floor
as ive already said theres a space under the B6 and B7 mats where the comfort control module sits IT GETS FLOODED BEFORE THE MATS GET WET UNDER THE SEATS
And in reply too your vast knowledge on 2 passat which incidentally are designed diffrent in the first place to the B6 and B7 in the footwells as ive already mentioned (did i mention that ), i suggest you strip your exeo down and take a look at the differences if you want too keep arguing with your superior knowledge in the field SON .
