No wax will prevent stone chips - don't drive too close to other cars! You can get a Paintshield system which is basically a thin clear film they stick on.

I detailed an Exige with this stuff on, it does work very well at stopping the chips & debris damaging the paint, only thing I found was it looks a bit ugly close up due to the thickness of it above the paint level.
