weird boost gauge effect

Today I removed my boost gauge from the A pillar to a universal pod next the the pillar. Basicaly what happens is when i rev the car the light on the boost gauge flickers a small bit and also the headlights get brighter when i rev, all since i moved the gauge. The light in the gauge is wired to the car. Any Ideas? Also the light on the gauge comes on as soon as the key is turned and not when u switch the head lights on. Does that sound right?

Is it an led? Could be because i9ts not getting enough constant flow

The lights getting brighter i would have thought is the opposite effect to when you turn your air con etc on and the lights dim, in other words the alternator is producing more power.
