right, my brakes were making a light squeeling noise over the past couple of weeks,,, so today i thought id bring the car in and check the out....got it on the ramp and found that the pads were glazed, not the end of the world,,, a little sand and no more glaze... whilst replacing the drivers side caliper to carrier i noticed the problem....
the carrier, which is a complete stubb axle/hub, had the top bolt which connects caliper to carrier had absolutly no threads... and the bottom blot had 1 individual thread. so my caliper was held in place with one thread.... so im
.... the brakes are all fairly new and were replaced by a well known audi/vw specialist which i will not name... but they had been in this condition for sometime as the bolts were there was no thread were rusted... im thinking this could of happened by over tighening the bolts??? the cars still in the workshop and im off to middlesborough to hopefully collect a complete unit tommorow for £30... but will be enquiring on the internet tonight about possibly an early upgrade... anyway the cars in the workshop over night as it wasnt safe to drive so just thought id post this to warn people that the pros might not always be the best, and because i was generally surprised... cheers
