That Mk2 was at the London motor show in 1997 or 1998. It was to market a set of limited edition cars with the body kit and I think a lightly fettled engine (180bhp springs to mine).

Problem was it was about double the cost of a regular car, hence I don't think any orders were placed and the car disappeared without a trace.

I've got an old-fashioned photo of it on the Seat stand somewhere.

love the F2 front bumper, especially with a FMIC behind it.

only one made as a promotional car then reverted back to standard, the removed panels later appeared on RSD's red replica that was doing the rounds a few years ago.

I've posted these a few times before, but there is always an excuse for some F2 piccies. As per Stu's comments, the RSD car was doing the rounds back in 2006 (was it really that long ago?). It was allegedly exported to Australia at the end of that year? It had TT running gear (hence 1.8T and 5 stud).

Just came across this video from top gear in 1998 which seems to suggest that some mark 2's were sold with the wide arch kit, skip to 3.40 but don't listen to the comments from the women!! ]

It was built for the Motor Show in 1998 I believe by SBG Sport, only as a display car, but SEAT UK in their stupidity accepted an order for one at the show, but the car never worked as it should, it kept going backwards and forwards to SBG in Daventry.

The engine should have put out 200 bhp, the wide arch kit from the rally car front wings and rear quarters were fitted, but the car never worked and the buyer got his money back. They sold the car for £40k, but I believe they spent double that to try and get it to work without success.

MOT history doesn't really show it racking up the miles - what's it been up to?

I was checking up on L830VOR (after a random image search on something earlier)

Interesting MOT history with only 7 miles in 6yrs

Hopefully it's getting some use now it's MOT has been done!
