Think im just repeating what everyone else has said, to uprgrade to a car as capable as a stage 2+ cupra and buy new or almost new is gonna cost at least £25-30k, i think ill keep it another 2 years and then see whats available, E92 M3, TTRS who knows. Mines done just under 25k miles just for the record.

Al have you gone for the Sachs performance clutch or paddle clutch and are you getting just the clutch plate or the sachs pressure plate and clutch cover plate aswell as i think ill keep those two oem?

Nope just don't have a large commute. Its my daily driver but its more my toy. [B)]

Same here really as I was move in my current job to another which has meant my daily trip has gone from 14 miles to less than 10.

I always pamper my car and I'm border line OCD. I snow foamed the car this morning, then hand washed and dried it down afterwards. I would be a lot worse if I didn't have a 20 month old daughter who's having her power nap now.

I normally get itchy feet around this point. 25K miles and three years old soon. It's been rock solid the whole time and still is in top condition (don't want to jinx it though!)

I've been flirting with the idea of a new Megane RS 250 - the first time a car that isn't a SEAT has really appealed to me. It looks the business and is well kitted out. However I can't really afford a new car at the moment especially as the Cupra has been fully paid off for a year-and-a-half now which is nice. (plus Z keeps reminding me it's French)

I'll probably get a new fuel pump at some point soon and the roof will be going gloss black vinyl to match the wheels. I'll hang on to it until the MK3 comes out and I'm sure I'll be trying to find the cash for the new MK3 Cupra/R when it's unveiled. [B)]

I always used to change my car every 18 - 24 months and that's why I think I've got the itch. I couldn't bring myself to buy a French car althought the new Megane is very nice looking and will be a good overall package. Renault certainly have their heads screwed on whe. It comes to setting up their Sport/Cup/RS models.

I would be interested to see what the MK3 Leon Cupra/R has to offer in 2012/2013.......

mines 3 in may and will probably have around 24k on the clock (its just under 19 now ) and i try and keep cars for at least 3-4 years although the past two have lasted 2 1/2 years for the golf and 16 months for the A3. As it stands i have no intention of replacing it, but i do want to do plenty more too it and we also need to look at swapping the wifes puma hat we have had for 10 years for a TT or something.

One side of me thinks I should buy a sensible car like an Audi A4 B8 1.8T Sline or 2.0T Sline and the other side thinks Audi B7 RS4 or Six year old 996 911 Carrera 4.

I could always keep the Cupra come two years time and upgrade the other halfs C1 to a bigger car or I could buy a toy. Always fancied a 944 S2 or Turbo or even a Sierra RS Cosworth 3dr.

Cheers for all you replies and I think for now I will keep the Cupra for at least another 2 years and try the Revo Stage 1 trial. Hopefully I won't have the Bluefin problems I encountered before Xmas.

Jeez, mine will be 3 in 2 weeks and it' up to 34,000 miles, and I predominantly work from home.

I can't believe you can keep your mileages so low.

I started looking about tail end of last year, and other than the Cayman S I couldn't find anything I really wanted to change the S3 for. It feels like the game hasn't moved on that far, and to replace like for like or for one of the competitors seems an expensively pointless exercise. Until it starts playing up, it stays.

I'd quite like an Abarth 500 Esseesse as a spare car, but not until 2011.

Oh damn didnt realise your car still isnt mapped. Mapped cupra is RS4 level speed. Went out in a RS4 the other day and lets just say my teenage lust for it has now gone. Suppose if I had a family it would make more sense to me as its a more grown up and mature car, but not that quick.

warren, how did you find the 4wd in the recent weather? i dont mean thrashing it about in the damp, more just trying to get to your home in the snow on estate roads before the council get round with the salt.

if it hadn't been for the 19's it would have been brilliant. Traction forwards and backwards was immense, the issue was with compacted ice/snow, the front end lacked bite into corners.

Never let me down once, so for once the safety net earned it's keep. Foolproof.

Have you not stil got your standard 18" you could have put back on. That's what I did in October.

I do like the S3's and would consider a Sportsback although for the price I could get an A4 B8 2.0T Quattro.

In the end I decided just to leave it standard due to not using the car that much. To be fair I cannot really use the power it has.

The main reason for liking the RS4 is the V8. I would consider a VXR8 although the resale would be poor.

In between would be a A4 B8 S4 Supercharged. These things list at over £34k and are selling at well over £4k more than that. They would be a great used car if they were in the £23 - £25k range at two year old.

I do also like Evo X's although not too keen on the SST versions. A FQ330 or FQ360 would be a good choice rather than the FQ300.

Was too lazy to change back by the time the snow came!

The S4 engine is good, but it is a big car. I specced one up and it came back at £42k which is too much for us right now. Nice, but not that good. The options on Audi's add at least £6k these days if you want some gadge.

Sportback is good, but if you have a Leon Cupra it's a big expense for limited gain.

I had my 3rd service and mot done this week, car has just done 19k.I did consider changing but nothing came close to the cupra within budget.......Unless it starts giving me problems i will be keeping hold and will wait to see what the mk3 leon is like.............................

x 2. I had a salesman try to give me the hard sell - will i want a Cupra R when they come out?

My answer - well I would get 11k for my car most likely, and a Cupra R is 22k. Why would I spend 11k to have the same thing again? - The differences are minimal on the FL LCR vs the pre face lift LC with regard to looks, performance, and the parts list when you look at the detail.

Had SEAT brought something out whcih was wild and wacky, possibly with 4 wheel drive, tuning options, light weight, limited slip diff, stripped out, 300bhp etc etc with a decent looking bespoke LCR bodykit, then I would have been interested. As it is, I simply am not, hence why I have chosen to enhance what I already have, and the end result of my cars enhancements will allow it to absolutley bury an LCR, and when I come to sell the car, I will be able to sell on all the modifications.

There are a select bunch of enthusiast posting on here. I wonder what regular Joe Punter who never looks at this and other forums will do with theres though?

A five door version of these is what we need!

^^^^Totally agree, i spoke with a salesman and he had some pics on his phone of the new cupra R, it looked better than some of the pics i had seen before, but with price to change at about 12k i cant see too many people bothering....Same with the new golf R £31,500:wtf: i do like the focus rs but wont buy a ford again......the megane is nice too, a proper race set up car for the road, but i wouldnt buy french either............

Focus RS is lovely, they look the part, sound the part, and you will soon be able to get a manufacturer warranty upgrade to 370bhp.

VAG are missing the boat yet again
