The actual mirror casing has 5 clips which just need to be prized off. Push hard and it just pops off

Spent 5 hours cleaning the car today, washed it, clay barred it, and then waxed it.. I am pooped!!!
Argh!! Not good. How odd as well.... Maybe a hair dryer may have come in handy to heat it up a bit.

That's pre-FL. I could be wrong (and too lazy to check) but I think the FL version of that tells you to aim the mirror down and pull from the top
