Just rang the seat main dealer for a price to get my cam belt kit changed and he said it would be 349 all inc is this a good price. Iv also called hi q and they said they will let me no in like 20mins a price but and benefit of going to main dealer?

I don't think there is any real benefit apart from the stamp in the book which may help retain the car's value a bit more. I had a cost from Seat at the same price and a local VW specialist with very good rep was £3 cheaper...rather have Seat do it to be honest as you have Seat UK as backup if there are any problems! Also, Seat will match any local company too on a genuine like for like quote...its on their website.

Well isn't it £349 plus £129 for water pump aswell? It's not a brilliant price because the for the cambelt kit and water pump is around £150. And the water pump (if the old one is returned) costs £29 paying £100 labour to unscrew 3 bolts and attach another is terrible. I work in the motor trade and got mine at cost and I think there prices are pretty high.

For example a major service is £249 I get it for £125 and that's at cost + 10%

Fitted a dash cam, been meaning to do it for a while.

I installed an ignition switched 5v supply in the fuse box, ran the cable up behind the A pillar trim, out the top and mounted one of these at the top of the screen on the drivers side,

I would've liked it behind the rear view mirror but the wipers don't clear the screen so it wouldn't be as effective.

Good review here

Bought a set of FL bixenon headlights in need of some TLC. They don't come with either ballasts but they do come with bulbs! Once repaired they will be going on eBay!

Also got my H1 bulbs to test out my retrofit lights...will connect them up to the car at the weekend to check and take some photos before sealing them up!

Now that looks like an interesting bit of kit and also needs a video to hear it.
I'm guessing that when on full throttle the valve opens and goes straight out of there instead of flowing down full exhaust and everyone around becoming insanely death lol

wont that mess up the tuning of the car?

i did this

tried this today, and kind of failed,

the strut has to fix into the ball but its on too much of an angle for this to work so i modified the way its works and went the oem solution

i still used the plates, 20x50mm, welded the nut on the back,

how ever i went through the hinge

heres the hole

after that to allow the strut to come down you have to trim this piece

IMAG0225 by cuprajake1, on Flickr

remove it

IMAG0227 by cuprajake1, on Flickr

cut in half

IMAG0228 by cuprajake1, on Flickr

install upside down

IMAG0218 by cuprajake1, on Flickr

i also trimmed the rubber 1/2"

this is it fitted up, no more bonnet stay :D

the struts are off an audi a4 13" long, while they hold the bonnet they dont lift it, so i need something stronger which i can have made by a company :)
