It's like sucking air through a straw if the diameter is smaller the air will sound more streamlined, if you were to suck air through a tapered tube the sound would be different as there isn't such a tight vacuum. My Neuspeed Pflo used to stutter at high end as the amount of air required it just couldn't keep up. You should invest in a proper filter :)

I did the airbox mod that rob_talisman did about a month ago as he said you can hear it sucking hard under hard driving...as to the lack of air intake, no chance these cone filters that we are both using are massive far bigger than whats in the standard airbox + the silicone pipe work that we are using are Bigger then the standard airbox pipe work..

I had stuttering issues after my remaps, it could be that your remap is stuttering when the car is under full boost accelerating, my problem was that the car was requesting more boost than the ECU would allow...

It could be this happening rather than the air filter...

Ok here goes, ill do a brief write up here...

There are multiple reviews on YouTube and websites like dashcamtalk etc, and it rated the best budget camera, better than some £200+ units in fact.

The camera is made in China so as per normal it is not that great build quality but as with everything you get what you pay for. The camera itself is plastic and quite flimsy so not sure how it would hold to being dropped a few times but is robust enough to be handled daily.

As you will see in the footage when I pull away it shakes slightly, that is cos the point where the sucker mount meets the camera itself is a bit weak, however the camera is so light it could be velcro'd to the rear view or anywhere which would stop that.

The day quality is very good and night quality is good enough to prove or disprove blame in any accident but could be better. The camera does record audio but I have turned it off on this recording. Audio quality is reasonably good but not always crystal clear.

The camera has an LCD screen which has enough pixels to show the police a video etc if needed but viewing on a phone or laptop would be best. It has a micro SD memory card slot for up to 32gb which is what I have in it. I believe this will record a good few hours of footage.

It has motion detection if you want to leave it on while parked, and has a shock sensor which protects files in a crash.

It has a battery for backup of around 30 min should the car battery get disconnected in a crash and cigarette lighter power for normal use.

Has a hdmi and av port for viewing on the TV etc

There are many fakes of these around however a genuine seller is estore9 which is where I got mine. I got it off eBay and it shipped from Hong Kong in about a week or so. (You can get black ones too)

I bought my memory card of Amazon
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009HPFV3U

I have also ordered a piggyback fuse and 3m USB converter to hardwire it. When plugged in either by the supplied cig charger or to fuse box, the camera auto turns on with ignition and record straight away. It saves the file when turned off again.

Anyway a great camera for anyone who wants to record footage of drives or for protection during accidents etc. I won't add anymore as this probably isn't the right thread to put it on.

Went to fit my grill insert tonight and wrap the chrome surround in gloss black but...

After I'd got it off it and had a good look it looks like someone has already had a go at it and they had considerable less patience than me. Maybe 50% the clips are snapped off, which explains why it's never sat quite flush. The part the self tapping screw for the honeycomb grill insert have also been snapped so I couldn't fit that either.

I have one I may sell soon if you need a replacement. It's a similar honeycomb design.
Apologies if I'm not supposed to advertise here.

But do you know how it was before you put the springs on? ...and if whether you knacked it when you tinkered with it yourself hehehe

Well in the 12 months I've had the car there has been no sign of uneven tyre wear so if it was out i doubt it was by much, main issue was the camber.

Unlikely anything i did caused an issue, plus it was all 4 that were out not just the corner i failed to do :)

If you attach to the rearview you will have to play around with angle or pad out one side to make sure you get the best view. I currently just remove the sucker and take the unit in with me as they can be like sat navs and the car will get broken into just to steal the camera. Depends where you live I suppose!

The cigarette lighter charger is very long and can be run round the windscreen out of sight and plugged in, but i wanted to keep it free so I am awaiting delivery of these.

Piggy back fuse

Usb converter

Will plug the fuse holder into a spare holder in the fuse box in the dash, like I did the btcc running lights, then wire the usb converter to it and run that either up the A pillar or along the doorseals and headlining to the rearview mirror. Whichever is easier and will last well enough
