Had the common whining sound on Saturday followed by a bang, no smoke so I was hoping it was just a split hose or a hose came off however after trying to drive the half mile to work today to get it looked at it started spluttering lots and puff of blue smoke. Not had the damage confirmed yet but I'm guessing its not great.

On the plus side it was only the 90 bhp version so I'm trying to find a upgrade for more power.

Well I've had trouble finding many threads about them but its fitted with the bxf engine, its a PD.

Its used in Mk2 Leon, Altea, Mk5 Golf and Touran.

It was slow but a Revo remap released the inner beast lol :D

You live and you learn, I thought the 1.9 was 103bhp only in the UK 1p Leon. I know there used to be 90 and 110 non PD versions in mk4 golf and sister cars. But I did not know the PD was also available in 90bhp. So what did the remap bring it up to? 135ishbhp?

Yeah I reckon it was around that, never had it on a rolling road but the difference was unreal. Like a completely different car tbh.

Recorded a video of the turbo siren noise before it goes in for replacement next week. You can also hear a bit of flutter on lift off. Not sure if that's normal or what causes it?

2.0 Tdi ref sport by the way

my pollen and fuel filter has arrived. know how easy the pollen filter is to change.

but is the fuel filter just a case of undo all the bolts, pull it out and put new in, or is there more to it?
