Just been out and purchased some underlay for sound proofing. Hoping it makes a difference, going to crack on with the boot and rear seat today.

Just over an hours work, and cannot believe the difference. So much quieter! I managed to fit 2 layers on the boot floor, couldn't believe how little there was to start with, literally only 3 strips.

You can collect those headlights if you want them...only 15 mins from the centre or I can drop them off...I can sort you free parking in the centre for the day too! ;)

I wish I could afford them Rob. If it was a few weeks later I would probs of taken them, but I'll have free parking though

Staying in the Holiday Inn in the centre tomorrow night as having a night out for my brothers birthday. Recommend any good places to go?

You going for door aswell? It does sound ridiculous when you have the rear seats down when driving. Defo want to do this with mine.

You pop out the fabric part pal, not secured then it's just a few bolts but you have to be careful because the door mechanism is attached to the door card. Where you get your underlay from and which did you get. Might get some today and try it. How did you secure it down?

Brilliant thanks I'll have a go later. Got this from stuff from B&Q.

Then just some spray glue. Proper simple job.

Good man. You've made me go out and spend some $$$.

There was a thread on here a couple of months back which you could look at. He took out the plastic around in the boot around the edges and did it there aswell. And tried some in the A pillars.

Dan, I'm 36 with two children....4 and 1....I don't get time to go out anymore! There are a few bars around Bindley Place and also around St. Pauls Square but I'd keep clear of Broad Street!

You won't regret it, for the shake of £30. Think I remember seeing that actually. I'd be worried I wouldn't be able to put all the trim back together haha.

So after getting persuaded my ECB (none actually needed) I went to b&q and bought the underlay he purchased. But to spray cans of glue which turned out to be shite!!

Anyhow started off like this...

Then started to do around the wheel arch...

And then into the floor...

Now as you can see I also took the strip of plastic off around where to boot catches one. DO NOT TAKE IT OFF as it's a royal pain in the rectum to put it back on.

I also put some underlay underneath it but it wouldn't fit properly and after a drive I made the car louder as the boot wasn't sealed shut. So took this bit off and managed to get the plastic back on. Think it makes abit off difference but aren't totally wow'd by it.

Main thing it tyre noise now.

A couple of tips for people thinking of doing it....

1) Don't unless you have the patience of a ninja
2) but some bloody good glue
3) buy a Cupra with a decent exhaust leave don't put sound deadning in!!
