What did you and your MK2 do today?

Finally cleaned the beast from the north east.

It took 4 washes per panel.....
Head hanging in shame.

Still needs:
- Interior trim wipes (only got a bit wet fiber treatment)
- wheels treated
- alloys treated
- tar removed
- outside trim blackened up a bit
- exhaust tips shined

Then it's time for a full strip and new sealants, glaze and wax.

Not yet. March 18th is the 6 month passed date. So hopefully I'll be on the road that day.
Car will either just be remapped then, or it will be on of the first things I do when I get back behind the wheel.

Also still need to get the DRLs in and my boost gauge. Lots to do

Looking very smart mate, good job so far. I really need to give mine an uber going over. Think I'm just gonna have to concentrate on one panel at a time and wash it and clay it then wash it again then move on till there all done. Then wash the whole thing again and polish and wax it...just really can't b ar5ed haha

I really need to clay it, but it's still showing signs of the 2 layers of sealant being intact so I don't want to ruin that yet.
Can't be ar5ed to clay it and add all the protection layers, and can't afford to have it done with the service and remap coming up

Changed my Cam Follower today. Was in really good condition so I'm happy.

Also fitted some new O/S Wingmirror glass as mine had stopped heating up.

Productive day for me.

Fixed the indicator in the driver side headlight, the housing was spinning inside the headlight, I didn't fancy paying £300 + for a new headlight, so after soldering a few wires dremeling a few bits of plastic and adding some crimps so I can disconnect the bulb I now have a working indicator and no bulb warning light on and no stupid double ticking of the indicator relay.

Installed the PartsuLike interior light upgrade, and also got the premium kit so had the reg plate bulbs and some sidelights included.

Looks much better now (apart from my problem with one interior light )

For anyone interested, the reg plate bulbs are error free on a 2010 Ecomotive. However, I think the electrics might be different on these because I know ddc (another user on here) had no problem with a set of bulbs everyone else seemed to be unable to use.

All I need to do now is re-install my HIDs and sidelights and I'll be looking good again!

i am thinking about upgrading the interior lighting, something brighter and whiter would be a bonus!

just ordered the 35w terminator kit, H7R at 6000K. Finally, im off to spain tomorrow so soon as im home i shall fit them!

He makes that look well easy on the video . I wrapped mine carbon but i removed the grill and then the chrome surround .
this way may take longer but once apart its pretty simples !!!!
