Yeh. Looks like the shaft snapped and then it started a small oil fire.

So new turbo, mani, oil cooler and we'll try again for 350 :)

On the plus side, it never got passed all night

This is a pic of your last lap, just behind me. I looked in my mirror on the pit straight and just seen a massive cloud of blue smoke behind you, then on the second corner the red flag was out.

I've got a few more pics from Wednesday night that I'm going to add to my readers ride thread soon.

So not really mk2 related but I was looking under my dads mk3 FR 150 and I noticed that his rear suspension seemed to be abit of a step back.

It was the old rear torsion beam and no independent wishbone and suspension job which I was surprised about. I presume the Cupra will be independent just expected the FR to be.

184 and 180 are but anything smaller doesn't, unless you buy a golf or a3 which is on all I think

Same on all MQB c segment cars (mk7 Golf based) based cars, only those over 150bhp (higher powered FR and both Cupra models) are multilink. Everything 150 or below is a (well sorted) torsion beam. All mk5 golf platform cars (including the 1p leon) are multilink.

I ticked over 50k miles today :( on the plus side, did manage 274.9 miles from 30.38 litres on a long motorway stint. That is 41.8 mpg I believe. Wasn't really trying, just cruising down leisurely :)
