Wouldn't the mpg be down due to the car trying to heat the exhaust up to do a regen?

It could be yeah, probably is. That and all the short journeys I'm doing.

When I finally nail down a permanent job I think I'll trade the FR in for a Cupra/R as I'm not doing the mileage to justify the PD170.

Anyone know the % level the DPF gets to, when it regens? John said 35% but I read somewhere that its 45%.

Also Saturday, fitted a new gearbox mount. Had some help off Daniel M,has made such a difference and the car feels a lot more rigid. Thanks to Rich-FR for sorting the part out too.
Attempted to re fit the clutch return spring but turns out the actuator rod that's connected to the pedal has snapped. So I need a new master cylinder as the rod isn't sold separately.

Gave the car a good detailing including a layer of AG super resin polish and a layer of AG Extra Gloss Protection.
Im so glad the EGP comes off so easy as I was doing it with a headlamp on in the dark! Couldnt even see my days efforts. Think my arms are gonna fall off now :)

There are two levels...ash and soot. I can't remember which is which but one will keep filling and the other gets burnt away when it does regens.

You can see on VCDS if you have it.

Had to nip out to an out of town Halfrauds to get some plates because the one in town said their machine was broken.
Was late, im tired and didnt really look at them until I got home.

Am I being too picky or what?

The corner here is damaged exposing the backing, and the backing is protruding along the edge:

All along one edge of the plates seems out of position exposing the backing and sticky adhesive:

Weird pattering in the lettering:

So that wasnt a total waste of time eh!
Awkward return visit coming up...

Take em back mate. They'll redo them.

Might just ask for money back, he used a template to line them up, not like he did it by hand. No idea what the marks are in the letters but they are all over the place too but dunno what would be different if they had another go.

I really find it hard to accept how something so easy can be arsed up.

I've had some bad ones made at halfords before and when they were done again they were better. The template only gives them an 'area' where they should sit, but they still need an eye to ensure the letters are straight. The marks maybe look like finger prints? Think the guys just had an absolute nightmare!

10 minute job chief, once you have the mirrors out it's just clips, pretty straight forward really mate

You do know you dont need to remove the mirrors. Just place a screw driver (flat blade) behind the cover and give a firm nudge the covers will just pop off.

Its how i did mine ;)
