What did you and your MK2 do today?

This week, several rude words have been aimed at the car.:censored:

Firstly, on a couple of occasions it has not wanted to start, just keeps trying to turn over but not firing. Will go on the second attempt.

Rear o/s door has stopped working again. Has been fine for about 3 weeks since the “drill a hole and wd40 it” job and then a couple of days ago, it just stopped. Reluctant to take the door card off again as I broke 3 clips last time.

And today, I had a bulb out warning light come on. Middle of the day with no lights on. Got back to work, checked all lights and then it just went out all of a sudden:banghead: . Came back on again this evening and I believe it’s a rear inner sidelight.

That’s my weekend sorted!
Winter draws on and the problems manifest themselves, my old 2007 Leon 2.0 TFSi FR always started to throw a central locking wobbler about this time of year in low temperatures

Well the bulb issue is not a bulb issue it seems. Gonna start a new thread for it I think.

Had the cam chain tensioner done yesterday and took her for a spin. Gave her a bit of boost as I'm still bedding in the clutch. Can't wait for dry weather when I can finally put the power down

Notice any differences with the new chain tentioner? May I ask how much is cost for part and labour?

I think it's a little quieter during start up. I was told that it had no stretch but 3 washers had got very brittle and snapped. I had all the work done by a local VAG specialist it came to £440 all oem parts. He also did my helix clutch a few weeks ago and will be fitting my fmic.if you're local I'd recommend him

Today's shenanigans:
1. Completely flat tyre rear offside, gone down overnight
2. Car would not start on my driveway

AA called and arrived in 20 mins! Diagnosed P0231 crankshaft positioning sensor signal improbable.

Anyway, battery was reading down on charge, probably for me fiddling with the rear side lights yesterday and having the lights on to test them. AS man did say battery is coming to end of its life.

Jump started, left running and all codes cleared. Gave it a run and seems ok apart from tyre pressure light coming in during the run so will likely need a new tyre and a new battery.

Oh and the code reader also brought up that the o/s rear door actuator is now dead.

Not a great day.

Hi strange question but I was wondering if anyone has ever changed the door card of there Seat Ibiza’s. I need to buy a new door just for the shell, however on my existing car I have a manual window regulator and on the door I’m looking to buy it has a electric window regulator. So will the shells for both doors be the same and would i encounter any problems while changing the door card over

Could have a blocked water drain hole somewhere which is causing the water to reroute inwards?

Oh, yesterday..........

4 new tyres (had a giant nail in one rear but felt changing all 4 was best as I had budgets all round)
Went for Dunlop Sport Maxx RTs. £91 a corner from Kwik Fit with a free wheel alignment check. Had the wheel alignment done aswell.
Then got a new battery from ECP as they had 45% off so ended up with a Bosch S5 with a 5 year warranty.
At the same time, I got some new wiper blades from ECP with the same discount as they ended up cheaper than what I could get them from wiper blades.co.uk.

All in all, a good but expensive day!

Yesterday, something happened which reset the trip computer, clock and stereo settings whilst the car was sitting doing nothing.
At one point it wouldn’t lock, then I had several warning lights on the dash which went away while driving.
Need to get this new battery fitted ASAP!
