Cheeky haldex service @ 15000 miles.

Safe to say it needed it, the filter was quite clogged.

Unfortunately I broke the pump connector trying to get it off. Although trying to find a replacement proved difficult as the vw part number isn’t stamped on it. Managed to find it eventually so just in case it’s 1J0 973 722.

Parts required

Fill bolt (N90281802)
Drain bolt (N91082701)
Seal Kit (0CQ598305)
Haldex Oil (G060175A2) 850ml I used about 650ml
Pump connector (1J0973722) only if you choose to remove the pump.

Pump housing bolts torque to 9.5nm
Drain bolt 30nm
Fill bolt 15nm

All in all took around 2hours to complete.

Put a Maxton lip on her. Was a fun install, the first "big" thing I've done on a car since covid started.
Next up: sideskirts. And still in doubt about removing the center exhaust muffler...

This morning I hit a pothole & nearside front tyre deflated. Changed wheel for spacesaver. Damaged wheel (bent rim) was one of my winter wheels & tyre doesn't seem to be damaged.
I intended to change to summer wheels tomorrow anyway.
May sell 4 winter tyres & 2 wheels, keep one wheel as the spare, sell damaged wheel for scrap.

Well done! Where did you connect the cables to?
Sorry, just seen your other post Re the fitting.
:)
Thanks. If you are thinking of doing this then please check my original post again as the wiring was wrong. You don't need a 12v to 5v step down adaptor, just a connector block and wire it directly to the 12v socket.

Changed winter for summer tyres and added 20mm spacers to the rears. Tyres are 225/40/R18. Looks a lot better now, but also realized the fronts could use at least 15mm as well. Aside from front spacers, my next plans with the car would be getting the roof rails wrapped in black, plastidipping the grille chome trim into black and perhaps getting some lowering springs. Once the weather gets warmer I'd also like to do some light polishing and apply ceramic coating. Reason for polishing - seems like the previous owner really liked those drive-through car washes..or he/she used towels to dry off the car after a quick wash.

Car has scrubbed up not so bad since picking it up last week.

Irish plates have made it look a lot fresher too.

Few interior bits and pieces to replace now. Previous owner wasn't the ideal car owner.

Wheels being refurbished before new rubber going on next week.

Anyone any tips on getting rid of that last bit of lingering dog odor?

Multiple wet vacuums, get one of the drill brush attachment (soft one for the seats) and a good fabric shampoo. The rear seat bench is easy enough to remove, which makes it easy to clean and dry. A strong car air freshener for the first month helps too.

Yeah was thinking they're wouldn't be a magic bullet but was hoping against hope lol.

She's had a full wet vacuum, looks like a few more will be on the cards.

Might try the vinegar and baking soda tips too. Can't hurt.

Paulo 16, my 2018 Leon FR is the same colour as yours, & yours puts mine to shame.
I really must give mine a good clean & polish.

It’s a lovely colour to polish and looks great in the sunlight! Very rewarding. Mines a 2013 car.
