Cheers, I’ll hold off on the footrest considering the pedals cost about a tenner.

Are these the same fitting for mk3 dsg anyone? I presume they are. Bargain anyway from China

Fitted this set to my dsg well worth it. Brake pedal is easy to install, tight fit with the fast pedal. Some rubber overhanging the pedal might get caught on shoes so could pop off. Little spray glue I think. Definitely feels faster lol ?

Changed oil and filter, which I've been meaning to do since May when I got it as I was never certain the garage I bought it from had changed the filter or used the right spec oil, but I've had a few other things to deal with first.

Changed pollen/cabin filter I had lying around by chance. Took 5 mins. Old one had feathers, crap off trees, hair and all sorts of guff on it. Also sorted myself out with a spare wheel and toolkit now nestled nicely.

Did a schedule of what maintenance is due all pretty much in the next few thousand miles-
Timing belt/water pump/tensioner
DSG service
Interim service
Probably AC
Probably coolant

I’ll probably go to a local vag specialist in Manchester but I could really do with that 5 year guarantee for cambelt, and 12 months breakdown through SEAT dealer.

Did the soundproofing job during the weekend. 2 packs of cheap chinese sound deadener plus some insulating "carpet" which is usually what manufacturer choose for doors and lining.

Decent overall job...road noise had minimal reduction (tried some before-after decibel measurements with a phone app and it showed -1db on the same road and speed) but the sound of the infotainment is massively improved and the doors have now a premium sounding feel when opening/closing. I would say that now the doors sound and feel more premium than my Q5 and waaay more premium than an A3. There is also a significant improvement of how the car sounds when going over pot holes. It feels more solid and I may have also killed some of the very few rattles I had.

Would I do it again? Probably yes but I would probably go an extra mile with better materials like Dynamat or StP.

If you want to reduce road noise, add sound deadening under the rear bench and along the rear arches. Made a huge difference to mine.

You're absolutely right. I did the rear bench and it made more difference than all 4 doors and boot! I tested the car in all different stages and the bench was critical. I will also do rear arches next together with the blind spot monitoring retrofit so that I don't have to do the disassembling twice.

Installed the Golf 8 front suspension arm aero covers today. Not sure if it has any noticeable fuel-benefits but they were ultra-cheap and it adds a bit of the next generation to my car, which is always cool.

Part number 5wa407117&118 (left/right) and 4 plastic push rivets.
So I was inspired by your "aero kit" posts and I went on to order the rear left exhaust cover (5Q0825206K cover for independent rear suspension) and the 2 front arms covers (5wa407117&118).

I have to report back that none of them is plug n play on a MY2019 Cupra. Actually the arm's covers do not fit at all and nothing can be done on them in order to fit. The overall shape seems correct but the holes for the rivets don't match those of the arm. That's really weird since according to my research all Leons 5F are fitted with the same arms no matter the trim level. I will give it one more go when I get the chance to have the car lifted.

On the other hand the exhaust cover can be fitted but again it's no plug n play. There are obvious workarounds to make it fit and I had to use some hardware of my own and one bolt that also holds the silencer heat shield.

For the record...

Hmmm that's strange.. On my torsion-bar suspension it was all mostly plug&play!

It seems that the 2 front arm covers are also used on the MK4 but this uses 5WA407151A & 5WA407152A control arms (new generation for Golf8) and I don't know what difference they might have in shape with the 5Q0 arms that the MK3.5 uses.

You installed them on a MK3.5 FR, right?

Bought the eaziwrap copper tape for the interior chrome bits and steering wheel plus gearnob sticker and front flag copper sticker. Managed to do the front flag sticker without issues and the steering wheel strip and badge but the rest was a disaster. Watched the videos before i started but the copper strips ended up in the bin. The one on the gearnob seemed too wide and wouldn't tuck away so that was binned too. I thought i would be able to do it but it didnt work out that way. Disappointed as I think that it would have looked good.

Well if your car was made after December 2019 it may as well have MK4 generation 5WA arms and not 5Q0. I've noticed some differences in ETKA regarding holes and shape.

Indeed, it was produced in may 2020, the Ultimate Edition.
However... I have the same covers from the Arteon at home, which have a different shape and hole alignment.
See the difference:

I've checked those as well but I can't find any application with my arm's part number. I may order them just out of curiosity but 99% they won't fit. They seem to fit to 3Q0 arms, e.g. Formentor.

I also have the option of RS3 brake ducts which are 100% plug n play and they also provide some kind of protection but they are stupidly mounted with tire ups and I prefer bolts or rivets for this kind of applications.
