Hi guys,well i own a MY03 Leon cupra,completely standard at the moment,i have howevere been thinking of a re-map. :D

Now the good and evil are arguing in my head....

The goods argument: "just get it remapped and a filter and uprated DV and leave it at that running about 210 BHP?"

The bads Argument: " why not buy a KO4 turbo wlong with injectors and then get the filter and then get the re-map and other things and look at more like 265 BHP?"

Now the bad is really my favourite at the best of times so the questions are...

1. If i bolted the KO4 turbo on,and the injectors would i automatically have 225 BHP or would i need the ECU out of the donor car?

2. What other things would i need apart from just the turbo and injectors cos it all sounds a bi easy!

3. If i then went and got it remapped would it just go straight upto to 260-265ish!?

4. Am i completely wrong and miles out with all this?

5. When i had put the new turbo on,would i then buy other engine parts such as filter and T.I.P and DV for a LCR rather than a LC???

Help mega appreciated here guys thanks. :funk:

Could try a turbo upgrade from somewhere like JBS or A+M depending on your location.

Hand them a few grand and a week or so later LCR esque power

you would need all the rubber piping to go with it.

Also you would need to lower the compression of the engine ideally, the R also runs different pistons iirc
not to mention the R is twin intercooler

different manifold too iirc charge pipes oil feeds etc etc.
k03 sport is a straight bolt on and will map to around 240bhp,maybe a cheaper/easier option

Re-Mappable to 240 yes but lots of pennies

Exhaust
CAI
DV
FMIC
4Bar FPR
Plus other "little bits"
Then add Custom-Code stage 2 or Revo stage 2 etc

And you should be hitting 240ish BHP (may be more may be less)

hiya mate
jabba got my ko3s to push 240bhp

i have a miltek downpipe and a dynatwist air filter.

if i go further.... jbs offer a ko4 hybrid which should give 290/300ish

ko4 as already said wont bolt on. so by the time youve got it running its going to have cost a fair bit. and it will give less bhp than the hybrid

then theres ihi which can produce 350+ but my internals will proberly melt at 330!

im considering the ko4 hybrid.....

saw that, where are the k03s's on as std then?
i'm not sure but i think the wording may be a bit misleading in that thread.
150 bhp golf/octaviaL+K/a3/passat=k03
180 bhp leon cupra/golf/octaviaVRS=k03s
forgive me for giving you the wrong impression mate, though the above may still be wrong

My K03s on my LC supposedly remapped to 235bhp so far (with all my bits and pieces on - exhaust, fpr etc etc)

TBH I'd not bother with a K04 - Its not going to give a big enough increase to warrant the spending - if i read right you need manifold, new remap, and other bits n pieces and for the 30odd brake you'd get extra (k04's push to 260/270?) you'd be better off putting the money onto an ATP eliminator etc.....

don't forget - bigger turbo = more power = bigger stopping distance - therefore safety often dictates bigger brakes (of some form).....

if you went brembos - different alloys would be needed too so you could fit them underneath... so probably 18's...

EDIT - beaten to it

a cupra is a bit lighter than a lcr aswell so power to weight will be better, a 240cupra probably wouldnt be a million miles off a 265 cupra r
