Go for the Leon 1.4 ACT ST DSG is what.

So this is a car you can't order in the UK, it seems to be an SE but with the ACT engine, it also has an alcantara interior which is also not a UK based interior option. Biggest impression compared to my FR hatch is the road noise being a lot less. I would suggest that my Brigestones are loud compared to the Hankooks on this car. First time I have driven the DSG gearbox as well, I could get used to that luxury for sure, with the ability to manually change gear always there as an option. The boot is huge too. I would buy this car.

I always go for a different car, usually a lancia (although not one of the type that are now rebadged as chryslers in the uk) I have alcantara in my Fr, although it is half 'leather'...

Last trip to Rhodes, Greece i rented Fiat 500C with 2-cylinder 85bhp automatic...perfect car for that visit.
This year i booked Pug 108 Top, so lets see if its any good compared to mighty 500C.
In the states i opted Corvette.

When we arrived at Toulouse airport it was on the back of about 3hrs sleep so opting for something recognisable made sense. They initially offered me a Citroen which I did not really take to. When we walked into the car park I was kicking myself over the fact they had Alfa Giulliettas which he did not mention. I would have opted for one of those as when I was buying my FR I was very close to getting one of those.

Regarding the tyres, the roads around here are similar to the UK. These tyres are certainly better than the Bridgestones.

We have booked a Leon DSG for 3 days for our holiday in Gran Canaria next month.

No idea if it will be petrol or diesel but hopefully it will be better that the asthmatic Astra diesel that we had in Tenerife a few years ago. :)

Usually book a bike or a scooter these days as there is only the two of us now the kids have grown up. Gets thru traffic better and easier to find parking close to where you are going, and out in the sun too not like the rainy UK.

Roads in Europe make a big difference. A few years ago I was driving the new A-class in Germany and I said it was a great car. Once in the uk the right was pretty bad due to the poor roads here. Last time I had to hire a car they didn't have a car for me!!! Not my problem I said and they gave me 3 free upgrades so took a Passat for the price of a fiesta for two weeks.

It's great that I've found this thread as we are planning our trip to Greece. What car is better to rent there? Does anyone have experience? Or any recommendations?

A few days ago, I had my first experience with limo hire London, and I must admit it was something special. First of all, it was my first time riding in a Hummer; second, you just have a very different perspective when traveling in such a luxurious vehicle. The feeling of grandeur and exclusivity starts the moment you step inside. The spacious interior, complete with plush seating and advanced amenities, made me feel like royalty. The Hummer's impressive design and powerful presence on the road garnered attention wherever we went, adding to the unique experience.

Get something with a soft suspension and high profile tires as potholes are everywhere. Gas or diesel, your choice but diesel is cheaper. Don't get an electric unless you'll be visiting Athens and other major cities, we don't have a very large charging network. Oh and if you can get one with an automatic transmission because traffic is brutal.
