Nice one mate think these look brilliant and they plug and play so failing to find a rhd pair can just swap them back come MOT time.

Thanks for the note Will....I have managed to convert this type from LHD to RHD. Should pass the MOT just fine as they no longer dazzle on coming drivers due to the kickup issues!

From this which is the type of cutoff you get with these headlights:

To this which is the type I can do...basically similar to OEM projector cut off lenses.

I honestly wish I could ship you mine, or at least the kick-up shield plates only, to modify them, Rob, but shipping would probably cost me more than the headlights themselves. Haha!

I could probably make you the plates for you to retrofit for a cheap price? Drop me a PM with the photos of the existing plates and I'll have a look!

Sorry to open an old thread, but I've recently got a mk2 leon fr as a fun runaround but am missing the xenons I've had on my last 4 cars, last night the wife used it to grab a take out and came back suddenly very supportive of having xenons, I think her exact words were, I had to use main beam the whole journey, the lights are real awful.

She drives our new Smax Titamium X Which has xenons like small white suns :).

So I am planning on these http://www.performancelights.co.uk/...ltea-04-09-headlights-black-drl-rhd-only.html

With the hids direct terminator hid kit (35w).

I noted on the autoart warranty that hids can melt the projector housing, has anyone suffered with this?.

Cheers.

Hi Danno,

I had the exact same lights on my old leon (the one in my sig)
I also put a HID Kit in them and no melting, worked fine however it does void the warranty!

Ever thought about retro fitting projectors instead of going after market? im pretty sure everyone will say the light output is far more superior!

I still got my old 1/2 made set in the house, just needs to be re-sealed with the sealant then they are good to go, just so busy working 7 days a week to complete them :(

I feel so bad Rob!!! I think its because I dont actually have my leon anymore im not so keen to get them finished. Although I could do with some extra money so I could do with finishing them :/

They are complete in terms on fixing them in place etc, just need to seal them back up with the butyl sealant! hard when working 7 days a week, tend to have a shower and go bed ready for work next morning lol

Picture of projectors currently, Just need to put the lens back on :/

Thanks mate, and no, I bought this motor cheap am due already booked too luck time on minor tweaks to get it back to box fresh so any more time than an hour and a half to refit is off the cars.

Plus my covers show 98000 hard ad unloved miles so if have to factor half a day to refinish them too.

Plus I kind of like the drl LEDs :).

Thanks again.

Cheers will, they look great, how easy was it to get the drls working or are they just on with side lights?, I had nightmare trying to get my updated white angel eyes on my e91 on as drl via an aftermarket harness from the states, they kept burning out, tbh any improvement on current is welcome, had BMW's and a mini with xenons prior to this, and our S-Max has amazing bi xenons, the leon like t lights lol, even with the Osram night breakers.

In fact this is out first non xenon car since 2001, didn't think id be bothered but I am lol.

Any other tips? .

The lights are very simple to install, literally plug and play and the daytime lights act as side lights so they are not on all the time unless you turn them on yourself.

I tried to swap my motors over but was a bit of a hastle to get the thing back into the socket so I chose not too, I never played around with the light leveller anyways so decided to skip this step.

Hope this helps

Cheer Will.

Will get some on order, but first up my back brake seized again, but seems to have freed off again. Made a horrific twang noise and then seized, but I did a bit or back and forth and it seems ok now. Had to do an emergency stop on the way in as some idiot pulled out in me so that can't of helped.

Got some of my hiccups again to, around 1900 and. 2400 rpm. :(.

Best sort these little gremlins first I guess.

Ps whilst not as great as oem was it better than the halogens?. Cheers

Like I said before its slightly better but that's because of the HID kit.
Even so the beam isn't perfect if you have the after market lights without HIDs you won't see nothing, probably worse than oem reflector headlights. So HID is a must if you buy them.

I had this problem so I decided to retrofit bixenons in the oem headlights, however by the time I got everything ready, I sold my Leon for an Audi :/
