Just had my 130 tdi remapped last month. It's been less than a month and the clutch has already gone. New clutch/flywheel/housing etc cos me £1000. Standard brakes are ok but might want to upgrade if you rant it a lot.

Maybe just upgrade the pads to green/red stuff or something?

To help keep your standard clutch a bit longer, dont use full throttle until just over 2k revs.

And you can take the catalyst off and it won't fail MOT.

im thinking of remap soon to, i have a petrol fr do the clutches go in these as quick as they do in the diesels?

clutch will be fine on the standard turbo. i was running 241bhp and 275ft lbs and only had bit of slipping if i totally abused it and that was booting it in 5th from like 40mph. normal remap will be fine on clutch. 275ft lbs is alot as well not many people get that from fr 20vt from stage two map!

No you'll be alright. You won't get much on a petrol remap anyway. Im guessing 10ish bhp more?

Its the torque that fooks the clutch, petrols are nowhere near as torquey as the diesels....
