Ive had this 1.4 spot black ibiza for a year now and i really am starting to hate it for reasons below if u agree then post .

1) back seats have no space at all, im kind of tall so when i drive my seat is kind of back and that means people in the back get squashed and all sorts.

2) fog lights have a mind of there own turning on and off when cornering.

3) hardly any space inside the glovebox.

4) windscreen washer finishes very quickly, could be due to the fact that it sprays the fluid out from 6 holes?

5) dropped coins are impossible to collect from the sides.

6) car is sluggish!

and the list goe son

Welcome to owning a small hatchback, Did you not check this before purchasing?

You know their meant to come on when entering a Sharp... corner, If the corners not sharp or evens out a little they'll go off

Isn't it the same size as the MK4?

Think its because the washer bottle in Ibiza's is tiny.

Same on all VW's!

Is it a NASP 1.4?
Not too sure what you expected, If you bought the 1.4 Cupra, Boca I think their pretty fast!

I think you can alter the driving lights with vagcom/vcds and you can take out the back seats and tell people to walk or get their own car, get a bigger engine, tighter fitting trousers and put in a bigger washer bottle. As for the glove box you'll just have to suffer:D

1) why did you buy the SC then :s seat have wanted to make a design difference between sporty and practical hence why the 3 and 5 door model look different. and if you wanted people in the back why not go for the leon (bigger car)

2) Fog lights can be turned off via VAGCOM...i kinda like them tho but i live in the country :p

3) Agree'd glovebox is tiny my Mk 6 fiestas was a cave compared to my ibiza

4) last longer than my fiestas did and its much better at clearing the screen too

5) I find them dead easy to get personally

6)mines not......i do have the cupra tho

ive heard the 1.2 tsi sport is quite spritely :)

I love my car, yes there are things I like and things I have had on other cars that I wish I had now...

But I do agree with you on the glove box! I have never used the glovebox tbh, but why design a glovebox that you can't fit the manual/service log etc in properly?!

What about the positives?

- Best looking car in the class
- Generally decent build quality
- Great equipment for the money
- Good residuals
- Unlike the Polo, Fiesta or Corsa not everyone is driving one :)

For every day use the 1.4 is more than fine, for more 'spirited' driving it's a tad more of a challenge. A proven engine that is not complicated with a lot less to go wrong.

I'm sure you must have known that itss still quite a small car and should have noticed before you bought it.

2) fog lights have a mind of there own turning on and off when cornering.

Called cornering lights, should have known about that after a year?

3) hardly any space inside the glovebox.

4) windscreen washer finishes very quickly, could be due to the fact that it sprays the fluid out from 6 holes?

Again...

5) dropped coins are impossible to collect from the sides.

Thats just pointless, you can't say that as a bad point seeing as cars aren't based around you dropping coins.

6) car is sluggish!

I'm pretty sure by now i can say, whats the point in you even buying the car? Did you not test drive it?

tough shite for the people in the back! if they want a lift or want to go somewhere they'll have to live with being cramped. if this is an issue then as already mentioned you should have gone for a 5 door / bigger car.

Agreed, and its far cheaper to buy than the Polo/ A1 that its based on.

Maybe listing lots of things you hate about an Ibiza on a SEAT forum isn't the best idea! ha :p But to be honest I agree with what everyone else said above the point of a test drive is to give you a better idea of what the car will be like to live with and I think the positives far out-weigh the negatives. I love my Ibiza.

^^ +1! Asking for an ass whooping really :p

Haha! Thats what i thought. I've had a few people incl. my boyfriend say the backseats aren't comfy (when hes had to sit in the back, i don't make him lol) but...i don't care lol. I sit in the front so will never know.

its not an SC its the ibiza sport black 1.4. I swapped my 2.6 litre nissan skyline for this. Its a good car and all but see it in my point that im a tall lad and the fact that having family members in the back is kinda frustrating as my seat is always way back. the glove box is small and im glad people agree.

I am thinking of Part exchanging it back for another skyline. if anybody is intrested please give me a pm in my inbox. the car is heavly modified for an 09 plate.

How about you post more so we can see pics of this heavily modified non sc ibiza black?!?!

And why did you swapped a 2.6 skyline for a 1.4 when your willing to p/x it back for another skyline ?!?!?!

i'm confused!

^^ Exactly what i thought about the skyline!

It is still an SC. SC Sport. Which is what i have in white, quite the change from a skyline 2.6.

I wouldn't say its the best car for a tall guy, which i thought would have recognisible from the moment you saw the car?

As people asked, and you didn't respond to. Didn't you test drive, or even see the car before you bought it? Surely you could've seen just by looking in the back there wasn't much legroom.

How did you expect going from a Skyline to something like this to be a normal change in the first place?

what the hell were you thinking P/x a skyline for a 1.4  obviously its going to be sluggish compared to that :ban:

So you've made a post telling us how much you hate it, and now your expecting someone on here to want to buy it from you?

I love new members - looks like we've found ourselves another Ibiza09!

Your complaining about a car that has nothing wrong with, ok's its slow and doesn't have much room in the back, but it never pretended to be anything else.
If you wanted a fast car with a big glovebox why did you buy it.

Had you said it kept breaking down and had loads of mechanical or electric problems then I could sympathise, but it seems your just having a moan because you made a stupid decision a year ago!
