This was my own car before and after turbo
Siren noise pretty much non existent now. On inspection the turbo didn't seem to have any play but mechanic said there is a definately a problem as there was oil everywhere there shouldnt be. It is still suspected that it is worn bearings. This is a quick recording of sound before and after.

There's a few common issues with the BMN engine but the turbo isn't one of them.

It sounds exactly like the first video mate, took one of my mates out in the car yesterday and his exact words were it sounds like a police siren.

I would suggest you get it looked at then and avoid spirited drives until you do. I dont know enough about cars but if its the siren sound I think youll be in the same boat as I was. Just for info I had full performance which stops you wanting to take the step and get a new turbo but believe me do it as you wont want the bill if the turbo shatters fragments taking the intercooler and engine with it. Also youll never be abke to enjoy driving it as every time you put your foot down you think will this be the time it goes pop

I will get it looked at and will be contacting the garage I bought from as they serviced and health checked the car apparently. I got 3 months warranty with the car so hopefully this will be fixed under that if not the garage will be getting a lovely letter/email saying I want it fixed. They also stated to me that the car was completely standard even though it has clearly been mapped and has 18" Cupra R wheels on it, so they seem pretty clueless in my eyes.

i would drive down to them and get them to have a listen. Then get back to your dealer asap. I had an extended warranty with mine from main dealer was worthless as they used a third oarty company so fobbed me off to them. They wouldnt pay unless something was broke which is wasnt (worn bearings not broken) so ended up paying myself. Mine was a 4 hour return trip too so couldnt just go down there and protest which would have helped im sure. If it turns out to be turbo get on it early and get your money back as it is not fit for purpose under the sale of goods act.

Mine is a 2 hour drive :s. When I had the car out for a test drive the sales rep heard the noise and just said that it would be the turbo spooling up so they are aware of it. P****d off that a garage would sell a car if they knew there was something wrong with it. Bet the guy was laughing inside when I shook his hand. MUG on my bloody forehead.

This is a video of the turbo noise from outside before it went in for replacement! You can also hear a bit of flutter on lift off.

Hopefully yours is just spooling, as they do make a noise when spooling up but its more of a whoosing whistle that you can here is pressurised if that makes sense.
