Im gathering together stuff for an install, got the front sounds sorted, just need to think about the sub department.

Ive been offered 2 subs, I think they are both 12". Just wondering what anyone else is running?

I ran a single 10" in my mk2 ibiza in a small sealed box.
Ran off 290 real "Genesis" watts. :D
and it hit hard. It was easily enough for the size of car.

Iv got a 12" JBL, ported box run by a JBL competition amp, excellent sound good all round performance,

Dont tend to have the BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM effect anymore, just compliments all types of music with the extra bass i crave!!

Im going to go for sealed box/es (just cos they are easy to make!) I was thinking if I go for 2 subs then have triangular boxes, so there is some boot left!

Probably not much help seeing as I have a Leon :p but I've got just a single 12" Digital Design 2512 in a 2.5cu ft ported box which has killed almost all my spare boot space but by good it's worth it...

I only have one 12" as well... I didn't want to lose that much space so its in a sealed custom stealth box. I prefer spending the money on one top quality sub that can still move the air rather than the two. Buy one dual voice coil sub and run it at 2 ohms if your amp is capable of it... you won't be disappointed!!:D

Ive got 2 re audio's. Why two 170 pound subs instead of one 340 pound sub? because 2 x 12 inchers have double the surface area and I have found it easir to get two average rated subs 600rms each, kicking hard than one 1200rms sub!

iv got a single 10 inch sub fusion thing as it was what i could afford at the time but im gettin a double 10inch vibe one soon for my install :d

2 12"s in a 5.2 ported box (before disp.) (4.7 after disp.) tuned to 30hz, yet I haven't got the box till hopefully sunday, Ill tell ya how it turns out :p
= No boot space whatsoever (well a bit for the amp but thats about it)
If you're after a more musical, (not so streetbass/SPL) then go for 1 in a 1.5/2.5cuft box

I assume you've catered for all the heavy sound deadening to stop all the vibrations? Mine rattles enough with a single 10" sub with 6x9's in parcel shelf!

Here's a pic of my install in the MK3......might give you a few idea's.. Single 12" Rainbow Hammer...

Thanks for that... I wouldn't bother with 6x9's in the rear mate.. Just get a good set of front components running through an amp. I don't have any rears in mine at all...

i have some good front door speakers in atm which do need amping i only thought about putting a set in so the base doesn't over rule all the sound
