Hi All,
I need to replace front tyres on a newly purchased 2021 VZ 310. I live in the UK and like many have been surprised with the road noise. I did admittedly come from a BMW 320 Msport touring. So a very different car in both performance and also refinement. But I do need to replace the tyres regardless and have narrowed it down to good year Asymetric 6 or Turanza 6 for a combo of queit or comfort. The good years are meant to be more sporty. But keen to hear if anyone has got either sets of these tyres and honest reviews. The existing tyres are Turanza 5's. Thanks all in advance

You've got 4WD?

What's the tread on the rears like? Might be best to replace all four.

Have you considered Michelin Pilot Sports? Specifically the Cross Climate 3 Sport.

thanks Guy. Yes I have the AWD.

I had the cross climate sports on my BMW. Nice tyre. Are they quiet? The issue I have is trying to lower the sound a little.

I've had Michelin PS - they were like butter - lasted no time at all and I'm not hard on my tyres. I won't buy them again.

Compared to your outgoing tyres which have, say, <3mm of tread any new tyre is going to be quieter simply because you've got more rubber to work with and soften the ride / noise. - Apologies if I'm teaching eggs - suck - Grandmother.

As for the CrossClimate3 Sports? I've been running them for the last 6,000 miles since early November and I can't fault them; grippy, responsive, quiet, okay on fuel. NB> I run my tyre pressures at the Comfort setting, as opposed to the higher standard level, which helps with ride, comfort, grip and noise.

I'd happily run them all year round, except I have a preference to run a winter / all season tyre November - April and a regular summer tyre on sportier wheels in the summer. As it happens, I've switched to my summer set this morning.

Assuming starting tread depth was 7mm, after 6,000 miles they're down to 6mm. I generally change tyres at 3mm so have 3mm of wear to go @ 6,000 mile per mm; e.g. 24,000 miles from new. More than happy with that.

What's the state of the tyres on the rear? As you have 4WD you ought to keep the tread depth as equal as possible all round.

They are in a state to be honest. I ended up opting for The Turanza 6 due to the low noise. I agree that when they are on I should here a noticable diffference and also save a few quid. Thanks for the input.

Turanza 6s will be fine. I was generally happy with the Turanza 5s I've had in the past.

If your rears "are in a state" (assuming I read that right), you really ought to get four new tyres, not just two, or is that what you've done.

I find the Bridgestones noisy...strange

Next time round I'll be going with the Goodyear AS although I ran Mchelin PS4s on my Focus RS for 4 years with no issues.

asymmetric 6 would be much better than T005 from Bridgestone or Turanza 6. They are really soft and comfortable tyres, one of the best in the market right now

Been using the asymmetric 5's myself and it was indeed an upgrade for both comfort and grip. Since the asymmetric 6 are rated even better in tests and reviews I imagine you can't go wrong with those. Planning to get them myself as well.

For grip and comfort yes the GY will be slight better yes, as ones a touring tyre the other a sport..

I've had cars with both the Bridgestones and GY Asy (5 in my case) and would always choose the Goodyears over the Bridgestones both for comfort and noise.
Admittedly neither vehicle was a VW Group car.

I've driven on GY Assy 5 & 6 together with BStone T005, T6 and Potenza Sport together with many others at work, for me I'd have the BStone for its sporty feel which brings many benefits however, my second choice would be the GY Assy 6 as its the closest match thereafter, I'd be stuck.

Just had 4 x Turanza 6's fitted to my 190 4-Drive to replace the worn out Turanza 5 OEM tyres. They see to quite noticeably quieter. Not noticed any difference in grip or MPG so far.
Tyres do tend to become noisier as the tread wears down, so a set of new unworn Turanza 6’s will naturally seem quieter than a set of worn out Turanza 5’s.

Hello. Maybe someone knows, what happens with my tires ?
( Turanza. Made in Poland)

Can depend on a lot of factors. They don't seem excessively old at 4 years.
Possibly bad storage conditions combined with heavy driving during hot weather while also possibly under or overinflated.
If you keep them outside in the winter instead of in a garage or in general a somewhat temperature controlled environment it can cause this. I keep my summer set indoors during winter since I have the space.
There's always the danger of counterfeits if ordered cheap from an unknown vendor as I believe there is a market for that.

As you are from Estonia like myself then I doubt the summer heat has much to do with it ⛅

Four years old; rubber is getting old and hard.

Classic sign is the cracking you have got.

Time to replace.
