Whats Gone Wrong With Your Cupra?

Had mine since chistmas eve '05, other than a broken clutch pedal thats it in a years driving!
Thinking about putting a new maf on soon just for safe measure.

Had the car 3 years.

:Maf sensor replaced
etrol cap motor replaced (it stayed shut)
/s electric window swtich is dead
:fan fuse melted
:squeeky clutch pedal

cant blame dents on the car thou.

what happened to your engine?

in the short space of owning it (6 months)

passenger window regulator broke
2 maffs sensors gone
standard exaust system snapped ( has done almost 60k though)
water pump
water thermostat

and no dout there will be more!!!

still a very much loved car though

ECU packed up
3 coilpacks gone.. hmmm just waiting for the fourth
and iv only had it 3 weeks!

oh well im getting to the end of the problems now, fingers crossed

Too much to list on mine. I guarantee that any problems mentioned on this site has at some stage happened to mine (melting fusebox, maf's, coils, clutch pedal snapping, knocking suspension, electric windows etc etc).

Fortunately, I got a lot of it sorted out while it was under warranty. Some bits still need doing, though.

I was thinking of selling it not so long ago due to the reliability problems but I'm thinking that surely not much else can go wrong with it now (famous last words. I'll probably break down on the way home now).

had mine for about 6 months

sparks plugs faulty
1 coil pack
leaky oil filter
map sensor
coolant temp sensor
just had cambelt service and was only 1 bit of my water pump impellor left


not doing to bad really but love the car so dont matter

wow, this makes me feel so good. only MAF, window motor, full gearbox rebuild, drive shaft and wheel bearing for me.

first time my engine light has been off in a year and the first time the window has worked since i brought it over a year ago.

Brought mine in Sept - 2001 x - 56000

Ignition switch
Temp sensor
maf & N75 (didnt need those but brought them anyway)

thats it really - touch wood

LAMBA SENSORS
ENGINE MOUNTS
DRIVERS SIDE WINDOW SWITCH

then just service items SPARK PLUGS,OIL FILTER,CAMBELT,WATER PUMP,TENSIONERS

I see I aint the only one with a gearbox failure. If it wasn't for that, the rest are just niggly problems. Nothing too 'extreme'

in the 2 and half years of owning it

3 x coilpacks
2 x MAF's
Headgasket, (water pump died)
water thermostat
external temp senor
electric mirror switch
traction control switch
coolant pipe rubbed on rad
head lights! (took it in for its first ever mot and they said it had left hand drive head lamps! tried to bill me for 2 new ones! told em where to go!)
battery
A/C stopped working not so long ago

think thats it! lol

oh yeah, my AC has died, just needs regassing, but i dont care about that, il worry about that in summer

Lets see,

In 7 months of owning the car Ive had

MAF Sensor replaced
New Dash fitted (Petrol gauge & temp gauge didnt work)
Brake servo hose
Brake switch
Fuel problem

Last 2 faults are getting done tommorow.

So far the car has not run as it should be running, Hopefully after 2morrow it will be a completely different car

exhaust hanger,
electric window regulator,
3 new front right hubs along with wheel bearings (the current hub still isn't right),
abs sensor,
driveshaft,
new tyres,

and thats it for now...
