If it's out then for the sake of £23 I would get it sorted or you could find you need new tyres again in a few thousand miles, £23 or £230, I know what I would do.
just wanna see if someone can confirm, damage will definitly occur or its too little to notice any damage. I usually dis believe the ''we check your alignment for free'' offer, as lo and behold, you have to take their word for it.
Think about how many times your wheel will turn in a mile. Multiply that by 2.5 mm, and that's how far your wheel will be trying to move sideways, every single mile you drive. And the only thing that will let a tyre move sideways is scrubbing of rubber on tarmac.
Although £23 seems expensive for a bog standard alignment, maybe a local garage may do it for a tenner or something?
I'd get mine done if they were even 1.5mm out. I am fussy but then tyres cost money and handlings comprimised with the tracking out and I drive a flippin Cordy vario tdi, it's not even a cupra lol.
I work a garage a and you will be suprised at how much damage can be caused by "only" 2.5mm, 2.5mm is alot in tracking terms get it done or you will regret it when u still have plenty of meat left centrally but ur inner or outer edges are shot! Ask them to show u the gauges if there laser gauges the rears should be on the same number and the fronts should be the same mm but one side + And one side - that will mean it's parallel and won't cause scrubbing
