anyone bought or priced up a wheel bearing recently, front near side (passenger) is noisy on mine so got to purchase one. Also is it a DIY or are special tools needed for the job. cheers folks

You'll prob need to get a garage to do it as you need a press to get the bearing in and out, don't use a hammer and a socket as you'll kill it!
garage will prob charge about 40 quid.
but you could take it all off yourself and just get the garage to push the old bearing out and the new one in, bout 10er!

i did both mine myself recently. £30 each.
Luckily I have a press, but even then had to make some special tooling to ensure the press applied the force in the correct areas.
I did not have a bearing extractor so had to carefully grind off the outer race which is left on the hub when you press the bearing off
Apart from that you will need a ball joint splitter and large circlip pliers.
Sounds a good suggestion to have a garage press out and press in.
