Good Evening All

Please can you let me know if there are any fitting problems, upgrading wheels and tyres
from standard 17inch to either 18 or 19inch. My local garage have advised me that anything above a 17 will either rub or scuff, Your views will be much welcome.

Thanks & Bregards Steve

The fact the Mk2 Cupra comes as standard with 18" wheels and the Mk2 FR can have them as factory options kind of blows their advice out the water. The Cupra and FR run lower ride height suspension also, so if they were going to scuff or rub it would be on these cars it would be most likely to happen.

I've got 19's on my Mk2 Cupra and it doesn't rub or scuff, and I've had them on problem free for almost a year now. Having driven over most surfaces in them in most conditions, parked with them on full lock and commute daily over 20 or more speed humps.

As long as you get the correct offset wheels and the correct tyres there is no problem what so ever.

I got 18's on mine and mine's factory standard, which already sits really high.. not sure how they can say that. I'd go to a different garage mate!
