Where to read error codes

Sounding like a complete numpty now!!

My engine management light has been coming on and off intermitidley for a few weeks now, have got the equipment to read the fault codes but no idea where to plug it in.

Can anyone help me please ???

Hmm, depends what car you have I suspect. The diagnostic socket is in different places depending on which model you have.

It's an ibiza 2003 1.90 TDI sport

That should help someone. Personally I don't know, but it'll be under the dash area, near the fuses I suspect.

Diagnostic port is purple in colour (i think)
Situated behind the pull down pocket on drivers side below the light switch
Open the cubby box then when fully open pull downwards to take the cubby box out
Shouldnt need much effort
Low and behold fetching colour plug
