Hey all just got results back from RR day and not impressed!! [:@] [:@] [:@]

187BHP and 238NM of torque that sounds standard??

I had engine replaced in car after bang bang valve drop problem, now im worried becasue rr day brought me to 187 bhp which is standard so im wondering if when the engine was replaced was the ecu was flashed back to stock when they changed the engine or was it just a crap map??

Anyone any ideas as to why this would happen?????

Please help before i go potty at him or seat!!

How about asking the guy nicely to look at your ECU before going 'potty' at him? If Seat did flash the ECU, explain what happened and they will probably be reasonable and just put the new map back on.

Was the engine replaced under warranty? If so then remap would invalidate that...i am guessing you paid for a replacement so you do have a case against them in which case I am sure they will sort it.

no engine was under warrenty they dont know about re-map so wondered if they just flashed it, will speak to impossible first just disappointed bout results didnt realise they may of done that!!

my guess is that they flashed the ecu not thinking it was mapped mike will know straight away when he plugs it in as all the map values are saved on the lap top

Have you got an image of the graph

it's well down on torque, therefore boost

which means you either have a stock map, or the cars faulty (or the dyno operator isn't clued up)

If its under waranty and you tell them it had a remap, surely they'll go mad and say "you voided the waranty?"
Or am I talking crap?

Surely if you got it replaced under warrenty without telling them about the map (which would of invalidated the warrenty) then its actually your fault?

Ok - so maybe you didnt relise they would reflash the ECU, as i probs wouldnt, but you cant be expecting to shout at anyone really mate. IMHO

I think if you've had a new engine under warranty without declaring a remap (which would no doubt invalidate such warranty in SEAT's eyes) I would just bite your tounge and get the remap redone....

far cheaper than a new engine!!! :)

I Agree!! If You Had Th4e Engine Replaced Under Warranty Without Telling Seat About Your Remap, I Would Say Nothing!! A New Map Is Definately Cheaper Than A New Engine- Which They Could Try And Make You Pay For!!!!;)

i will scan the map and show you it all its not a smooth map at all i must admit it spikes then flattens out then spikes not a smooth graph at all.

yeah i know cant shout at anyone really was just shocked is all mind you 187 standard not bad but like mork says torque is down doesnt shift as much as before, so ill put the map up later and see what you guys think!!

cheers!

well there i wouldnt have a clue, as far as i know it was a complete unit from seat themselves so im puzzled, will get read out on here at about 9 tonight!!

im hoping they've just flashed it but car sometimes seemed to surge then pull back which im guessing would show why the read out had spikes??

I had the same prob when i had some warranty work done on the car they flashed the ECU so no remap... but like the guys mentioned i couldnt go and complain as i had it done under warranty when really i shoulf of been charged for it...
However the very nice guys at Awesome did me the remap again free of charge. Thanks again boys!

its the poor driving which rings bells... if flashed to stock it should be smooth all other things being equal.

just cos its done @ dealers does'nt mean it done right
