You weren't trying hard enough, if you get more than 30mph hang your head in shame:doh:

Well i was driving slowish on the way there, had the gf in the front and she wasn't in the travelling mood. Used barely 1/4 tank. Used up twice as much on way back doing sprints and driving slow du to traffic and police etc..

Raced a fat dude in the new Octavia 2.0T FSI Vrs. Not bad cars. Very quick. He was overtaking and blocking me to annoy me, I just slowed down a little, then got some momentum and left him in my wake lol. very powerful map. Torque is awsome. Need to do a rolling road, but must be well in the 270bhb mark maybe pushing 275bhp

Just a stage 1 remap wont give those sort of figures mate. Probably 260bhp tops but a lot of torque, which is what you're feeling!

Is it just me or does this thread keep repeating it self over and over again .

Thanks to comical statements like '95ron blocks your injectors', it will keep going on and on and on until everyone on the forum dies of boredom/old age, or someone has the decency to lock the thread ;)

Performance torque top man was the one that did the remap. He has the same map on his TT 225. He only has a remap and Forge DV on it at the mo and its been rolling road to 270bhp. I have a Maxflow CAI on mine so thats why im geussing its around the same possibly more. He is very popular. the Performance torque map is one of the best maps out there, Revo and jabba failed to beat this map on a rolling road competition, The map is progressive and yes very torquey. It wheel spins in 3rd which its never done in a dryish weather.

Will only know for sure once iv done my own rolling road.

You wont get 275bhp from just a remap and a CAI. I'm sure you can go onto a rolling road and they can give you a printout to say you have that figure, but in reality, you wont. Dyno Lottery is a phrase well used around here, but for good reason. There are so many variations in Dyno's and the way they are operated that you can pretty much make it give you any figure you want. Stage 2 cars aren't making that sort of power and they have the full exhaust, down pipe, FMIC, 4bar FPR etc etc.

Hi, I know everyone is prob sick n tired of this thread...however jus cudn't resist a post after reading the first 5 pages lol!!

Just a few things i wnted to add....apologies if im repeating as i haven't read ll of the 8 pages lol

Ive been using 95 ron in my leon cupra, no problems.

Inside the petrol cap says "95 ron/98 Roz" suggesting to me 95 ron is perfectly acceptable to use?

After reading this thread was intrigued to find out how much better the "super" equivalents....so had a scout round a few my local garages..price varying from 6p per litre more....to 12p per litre more at BP

Also, didn't go to shell an check the V power but every other "super petrol" seems to be 97 ron!

Thought i'd have a blast and bought a tank see if it made a difference, and I do agree that the car seems to run a bit better but nothing to write home about tho, n as for mpg too early to tell, but seems pretty close.

I have found it really funny tho with comments such as "my mate blew up his turbo coz he was running 95 ron" ha ha ha or whatever it was!

I hope none of my comments are taken the wrong way or anything they are not meant to be.

Anyways see u at the pumps lol

Loads of information on fuels, its a HUGE subject.

Firstly the difference between 95RON and higher RON's comes from the refinery. The octane number has to meet specifications there so we get 95RON and higer RON fuels split up. (notice Shell, BP etc offering different RON fuels - BP have a 102RON now, Optimax 98RON?, V-Power 99RON)

Then the Terminals (Shell, BP etc Storage Tanks) add different MFGA's (multifunctional Gasoline Additives) depending on the type of fuel they want to 'market/sell'

Then the fuel gets taken to the fuel pumps for us lovely people to buy.

The biggest MFGA is detergency! This provides us with cleanliness to ensure power & emissions stay at a good level over a period of time.

There are loads of other MFGA's avaiable to use:-

Static Dissipation - Safety when refuelling
Anti-Corrosion - Both fuel storage and vehicle protection (pipes/tank)
Antioxidancy - Storage
Friction Modifier - Fuel Economy & Emissions
Solvent - Required viscosity for pumping & stability of all these packs
Anti Valve Seat Recession - Exhause valve wear protection
Demulsifier - Protection from water & filter plugging protection
Fluidiser - Anti valve stick protection, carrier fluid to take the additives into the hotter parts of a engine
Anti Foaming - This may jusy be for Diesel though, not sure. Otherwise the pump would click off very often and that would be annoying.

The detergency pack provides good injector operation, the single most important reason for a good clean fuel. Good clean injectors = good spray pattern, good air/fuel mix, good comustion, complete combusion, lower emmisions, power increase, better fuel economy & less unburned hydrocarbons.

Dirty inlet valves are also very bad news, using dirty fuel will create a carbon/oily deposit to form on the valve, building up over time. MFGA's help prevent this from happening and doing so can show power increase of 10% on average.

So in short give the best to your car, if you really like your car and want to look after it (even if you can't physically feel the power increase) your engine WILL see the difference and over time you should see a improvment to your engine.

I will no longer use supermarket fuels because of the sneaky 5% bioethanol that is usualy present without you really knowing.

BP are quite secrative about some RON numbers, or they used to be.

Shell are my choice of fuels, I completely trust them and they are a favourite for using as reference fuels in engine tests.

I'm ranting now but I find it all so very interesting, Diesel fuel is a completely different story! lol

V Power for me its what i have used in the car from the day i bought it and wont ever use anyhing else i have felt the difference i see no point in putting cheap fuel in cars when you have a better more refined higher octane fuel for a couple of quid more at the pump each fill up thats a loaf of bread for christ sake, You buy a high performance especially turbo charged car you are a fool not to look after it buy using the best Fuel, Oil any Consumable you may use on your car use the best you can afford, If you cant afford to use this then maybe you bought the wrong car, It says for fact in the manual 98 ron superunleaded but premium grade is exeptable as an alternative if left with no choice! Not only is this because the car is designed to run at its best on this grade of fuel, the engine is also having to work harder to achieve the same power also with lower grade fuel and its less refind causing long term problems with injectors and leaving nasty deposits in the upper cylinders, I have actually spoken in depth with someone that works for shell i asked if the claims and benefits of V Power are true, The answer is yes, V Power throughout its production is filtered and refind almost Five times more than Premium the octane is upped and additives are added such as cleaners and FMT (Friction Modification Technology) Which help lubricate the upper cyclinder areas such and Cylinder Walls and Piston Rings, The cleaners clean the whole fuel system from tank to injectors to the piont of Combustion! For sure worth the money and all good stuff! Shell claims and i agree fuel consuption is improved so whats the excuse? As i thought there is no excuse! It is tho i think some peoples aim to get things as cheap as they can, After all if you were in a pub and you could get one pint 20p cheaper you would cos it means you could get more thus get more drunk but if the more expensive one claimed to taste nicer and didnt give you a hang over which one would you buy? See you know it makes sense plus if you didnt care about looking after your Cupra you wouldnt even be on this forum!

the argument i have with people who piss rip me for using V-Power is

if you take 105.0 as opposed to 100.0 for normal unleaded
across a 50 litre visit to the pump, the difference is only £2.50.
not the greatest amount of money in the world, for the difference in fuel a few quid every fill up is worth it in my opinion

V-Power in a quality fuel.

I think it was Clarkson who made a comment about fuel on top gear the other week. The amount fuel actualy costs for what we get is pretty amazing (even if Mr Brown takes a high percentage of that)

Agreed, at the end of the day you will be makeing that £2.50 back in better fuel consuption useing v-power over s**t fuel.
