Waiting on a response from the supplier mate. Unfortunately, we are at the mercy of the fact that there is not a huge market for K04 TFSi engine intakes compared to K03s ones hence the reason the prices for the K04 kit is higher, because mods need to be made to them by the reseller to make them fit.

Having said that, you have the K03s right?

I am sure we would get an option to include K03s cars though.

JKM fitted my Forge induction kit OK, unless my car was a guinue pig and after that they withdrew it, better call Kate and find out.

Spoke with JKM, and it looks like I'm the lucky one as Jim mod'd mine to fit, and sent pic's to Forge to show what he's done.. As for the induction kit it sounds really good and inhances the sound of the DV, it does sit low to the ground but the chances of water etc getting to it are slim, unless you go wadding through a ford or something.

Cheers Jim/JKM

you can try the k&n typhoon kit 69-9503 or Neuspeed P-flo kit but the EVOMS is very impressive and a good idea is to heat wrap the intake kit which reduces intake temp greatly

Hello Deranged-GP, I have a question, I have purchased a K&N Cai (K&N 69-9503TFK) http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=69-9503TFK for my Leon II FR, I haven´t installed yet, but a friend of mine who have installed a Fujita Cai on his Leon II Cupra, said to me his their cars loose some power at low revs. He said to me that this is because when chanching the original system you loose a box that is at the beginning of the original air intake system that retains air that helps the car at low revs to respond quick. could you comment about this? I want to change the original intake system for this K&N because of the noise and the power but now I am not so sure. thanx for your answer.

hi cj with the induction kit the the torque and power curve get shifted so in theory you loose power in the low revs for about 500rpm but the advantage is that now your car will make power all the way to the redline but some good advice with the induction kit is to do software in conjuction as it will sort out that intial power lost

install it you will love the sound and you will understand how the power curve gets shifted and in time you can get the software done and your car will blow you away

enjoy

This could be one interesting intake option for Cupra example with ATP 3" MAF housing and some pipes/samco hoses. Its not completed solution, but It could be done to fit, with some modifications for the dv-section.

Click the B3 System section.

x-air intake installed to Audi S3 track car.

Its almost the same like this, which was installed to 24H Scirocco Track Car and that car has Audi S3 engine under the bonnet.

So it seems all the track cars are using the original intake inlet and modifying thereafter. I hate the position of the Forge cone low down on the left cos rain gets in way too easy with the K1 kit

That's the same one they have been flogging anyway. Filter down in the wheel well means I wouldn't risk it in this country.

They were supposed to be designing something new.

It's not really a spray issue. Just not keen on the flood scenario as we get a lot of flash flooding in the area especially at this time of year and it's not always possible to avoid it.

Thought it might of been a good option to do something like you have with the TSI intake, at least that way you have the filter next to the engine in a carbon can and can route some ducting to either the OEM inlet or to a wheel well if preferred.

so the forge kit will now go on the cura fine with no modification ? a hassel free fitting? because i know before it was a pain.

What does that bit in red pictured do and where does it go?

would it be wise to cut down the pipe length myself so its a bit closer to engine rather than wheel well?

easy to fit , you can certainly shorten the pipe if you wish

I am not an expert in air flow and intakes, but presumably you guys have done tests to ascertain the best location possible for that kit is down in the wheel arch? That said, it is surprising you are advocating shortening the pipe to avoid water being sucked up as that would surely be done at the expense of efficiency?

Also, with regard to ease of fitting, this is the only intake kit I have seen for the K04 cars so far to need the bumper removed. The rest of the install is as per the others kits available.

At least it is priced at a better rate than the likes of the very expensive dbilas :)

Now you see this is a nice idea. New prototype kit you have just published for the new Scirocco

Don't see any obvious reason why a similar system could not be developed and fabricated for the TFSI

Thats interesting, and looks quite nice actually. As per the dbilas but without the 90 degree bends and with a bigger panel filter. I wonder if the OEM intake location is infact the most efficient location? The price for this will be interesting to see as well.
