The thing is when you cut the engine cover it doesn't get anywhere near the fuel pump, you basically cut the rear section where the air filter sits away.

That wasnt what i was trying to say , the fuel pump is located right at the front right of the engine , on top sits the fuel pressure regulator valve , my engine cover came loose and snapped it off , its happened to a few cars and not just SEATs.

Thats why my engine cover is being binned ;)

one of those things that will eventaully happen , Povertys mate has had it a few times iirc.

Yeah it has happened to him over 6 times now and SEAT UK have told him that they will no longer fix it under warranty which is a piss take.

Is it better to take the engine cover off then to let the heat out?!

....Good question.

If one fits an aftermarket high flow tubular intake and also either an EVOMS engine cover or cut-down oem engine cover, what happens to the heat rising off the engine?

I've got a carbonfibre bonnet (painted) with an extract vent above the turbo area (Mk5 GTI) and that's the only hot spot in the engine bay according to my 'human hand test'.

I just finished installing the carbon speed (carbonio look alike) intake + pipercross filter to my cupra. I logged 3 runs before and 4 runs after on the same road. Average maximum airmass before was 232.05g/s and with the intake 238.04g/s. So estimated maximum power increase was 8hp.

Has anyone logged or dynoed the EVOMS intake before and after installation? It does look good. The original engine cover air intake didnt look very optimal.

how did you estimate 8hp increase?

Well had the itg intake fitted today and it does sound properly psycho, and the car pulls soooo much better now especially top end, well worth the long trip down to itg.

Andy said that it will be available from next week, think the first batch will go to the people who have contacted him directly though.

I would also be interested to know what ITG will be retailing these at. Rob hopefully the kit will sort out your issues you had at the last Rolling Road run.

Hi Ricky, the ITG intake will be £320+vat

Yeah it should sort the running rich problem out, speaking to andy@ itg he says the stock intake is pants it barely feeds enough air on a standard car and that ill definetly have to up the fuel settings to cope with the huge amount of extra air.

Rob , the foam that is used is it glued in place? i am thinking from a warranty point of vies or when the car gets sold and put back to stock , dont really want glue residue everywhere :(

If can't be glued in as you couldn't get at battery and fuses

not sure on the BSH one, it looks like there is no supporting brackets for the filter or the pipework, however if these could be picked up for the same price as the catch can group buy price then i would be interested, it also looks like it has the dv take off so should fit the cupra models.
