Whistling air noise in '08 Leon Mk2

Hi all,

Just picked up a 3 year old mk2 leon fr.

I took it on a decent road test this weekend by driving to wales, lovely driving conditions!

What i noticed though was that approaching the 50mph mark i get a loud whistling noise from the passenger side somewhere. Its as though there is a hole in the dash maybe and air is coming through

Anybody else experiencing this or know what it could be?

Not a lot to go on there. I suppose the first thing to do is to look under the bonnet and check the air intake is all intact and connected, right round to the top left of the engine cover near the MAF where it connects to the engine. Any splits or loose clips may cause the noise you're hearing.

I'd just take it back to where you got it from and get them to take a look.

Sorry, not sure what else to say. Its not like a turbo or engine noise its whistling like air is coming in through the dash or window. Imagine if your window was slightly down.

Just wondered if it was a common thing. I will have a look under the bonnet and see if i can see anything suspicious.

Turning off climate control will help isolate the sound.

Make sure the door seals and window seals are seated properly. Had same sort of noise, found it was a seal.

Climate control off but still cant tell exactly where its coming from I will have a look at door seals today and see if i can see the issue.
