PERSONAL BEST 53.7MPG from a 215BHP+ car :D

Welll as I mentioned i'm a little skint before payday so wanted to make this tank stretch as far as I can. Currently on 400 miles on this tank with 120miles indicated to next fill up.

This is driving @ 60mph on motorways and 50mph in national speed limit and obv 30 everywhere else. Fuel = vpower

So very happy indeed this is the reason I went for a 1.4TSi over the new 2.0TFSI engine.

Should manage 510+ miles from one tank!

Little video for those than are interested HERE

had any probs with the car yet? im on 560 in just over a week, got usual rattles but thats about it, i also had a moment which sounded like spring re-seating after 400 miles or so on left hand lock, hasnt done it since tho.

wow this economy just makes me want the car even more. this is amazing how a car like this can be so economical. in my old LCR i was struggling to get 300 to a tank!! was very very expensive!!

Pay day is 26th.. it all ends there! I might try for a personal best at the other end of the spectrum! Wonder if Angelsy has any track days in 3 weeks :D

Seriously though 42-43mpg is easy on a motorway run @ 70mph its all about watching how you accelerate, there's certainly a technique to it.

I will be able to give a definate answer after my run to Prague guys hehehehehe. ATM i am seeing about 27 - 35mpg round town if I keep it normal and don't hoof it to feel that awesome power suck me back into my seat hehehehehehehhehe

mate of mine has a Focus ST..he fails to resist the temptation and pays for it with 18mpg

ooooh. Thats bad!

Managed 50mpg again on the way in today. Not using cruise control and the remap has really made a difference. Last 50 miles before the 500mile
Challenge is complete :D
