Nipped in again from the MK2's!

Gubbed another new style Type R this morning. We were in a traffic tail back. The q in the lane I was in was moving about 2 foot per minute faster than the next lane. I knew he was trying though as I heard the VTEC kick in when he revved and he was right up to the windscreen gripping the wheel with his hands.

Another Type R driver with a small penis

:runaway:

Normal Civic Type R for me was no biggie - I had the edge...

....But a week back - I had a run with a Integra DC5 (Type R) - These things are 220Bhp standard...!

Boy it was quick..!!!

Well - We both gave it our best on 2 good runs on a dual carriage-way....

1st run - I started behind him - But I couldn't get past.

2nd run - From the lights - I was infront - But he couldn't get past me... but then at the same time... I couldn't pull away from him either...

His car had an exhaust system... so maybe only slightly modded (but my LCR is totally standard and I wasn't even running Super Un-Leaded - lol)

I have pulled on a normal Civic Type R before... but this was definately faster...

By any chance was ths the White one with white alloys driven by an Indian guy?

The exhaust he had was upswept a little also?

just bought ma lcr and ma mates got a ctr so i'll let u no how i get on

On the road I'd say they are very even.
On track the CTR would whoop a LCR.

that's just my humble opinion..... just like every other post on this board.

I know a particularly competitive chap with a standard '03 CTR. When I next see him I'll show him my dyno results and take the psychological victory :)

Tiff drove both and there was a second between them. Top gear there is less than a second between them i believe. Add some arbs to a Leon and i honestly believe you have a brilliant handling car.

I had a little confrontation with a guy that looked 14 in a civic type r, Left him for dust off the line and he was trying real hard but he suddenly came to a stand still later found out at the next set of lights he chucked it into 1st instead of 3rd, Ouch! hahahhahah what a gimp! These kids will bite of more than they can chew! I was very much relaxed about the confrontation and not one to chav it up reving at the lights but something comes over you as we all know, but he got a bit flustered and minced the gears! My wheel nuts require more torque than that honda makes come to mind!

the stigg on top gear did a lap 1 second quicker in a ctr so there faster on a track......................... thee END ;)

Not quite 'the end'. Where does it say "who's been up against a Civic Type R on the track"?

Civics rule the tracks, but the Leon is the king of the road. Seeing as the road is where the majority of both breeds live, the Leon is the car for me.

I just like to point out that a Civic at peak torque is doing what my car does at 2250rpm. The Leon brigade would rarely lose a game of Top Trumps at least!

A couple of days ago i went up against a CTR, and i must admit it did have the edge

well that was until he lost control about 90 - 100 on a slip road and ended up in the grass.

they may have the edge but they dont look very stable (back end looks very twitchy)

If you read from the start, you'll see that a few have been against Type R's on the track, and the outcome has not always ended in the civic 'whooping' the LCR.

Opinions are all well and good, but you cant convince others who have raced them on the track. The Civics are still difficult to keep on the boil even on the track.

Unless your used to the car, and the track, they're often no faster then the rest of the hot hatchs which attend trackdays.

My Derv certainly has never been touched by a type r, so a well driven lcr will be fine.
