Technically yes, but they'll screw up your gearing and hence the speedo reading.

so they will physically fit but wont do the car any good?

what would i be looking to replace for 17" tires with the correct size?

or what size could i get away with without to much cost?

Standard size tyres on 17" wheels on the Ibiza are 205/40/17 or 215/40/17 if you want a bit more rim protection.

just seems alot of money as the very budget tyres are 41 each and il need for so looking at 164 plus 250 for the alloys just doesnt seem worth it for the s3 alloys

For a top tyre in that size you are looking at £77 a corner http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m4b0s103p9478 as can be seen one of the best tyres available. Please dont go for silly cheep rubber as it is all that keeps you on the road and it does not pay to scrimp!

Around £10 per wheel to remove tyres and fit with valve and balance on the new wheels. Might get it cheaper if you can haggle!

Much better! They do look good. I had a set of TT 6 spokes and didn't even put them on the car as I didn't like them. They were too flat and bulky somehow. The S3 wheels look better because they have thinner spokes and the detail at the end of each one. I like
