will gti headlights fit into a 1.4

good luck finding urself a set though, i waited ages for some and ended up not having any luck so just had to replace my cracked one with another 1.4 version 
Im gonna have to play the noob card here & ask "Whats the difference between normal & gti lights?"
1.4 have a set of H4 for main headlights.
2l 16v - have 2 H1 in each lamp. Looks a bit nicer and they are a bit brighter.
I think the 2l 8v is H4 too.

the black cordobas in both pics (second pic is my old 16v) have the split gti lights, the std 1.4 lights are single lens.
Facelift 2.0 8v's have the 2xH1 lamps Jase - the prefacelift ones have the 1xH4 lamps tho...
standard Gti twin Lamps (2*H1)

Would it be alot of work to swop 1.4 headlights to GTi ones? The 1.4 is the pre face lift. Also would it just plug in striaght in as the gti ones have 2 bulbs and the 1.4 has one?
