Yes it is a direct fit, seen a few of these fitted on S3's etc. and 330bhp was the result. You'll need bigger injectors and a remap too.

Thats good to know Rob, i was always given the impression from people that none of the elimator stuff would fit the LCR without changing downpipes etc...

Now the question is is a hybrid with a high flow mani for stock like spool and less money for about the same results as good as a gt2871r on stock mani + remap, injectors etc.. But slower spool.

I'd say rods should be on the list if you are planning this, I know i am for my hybrid.

The bt vs hybrid debate again

Unlikely to see 330bhp from a hybrid K04, I don't think anyone has been anywhere close to that.

The GTRS Eliminator for the LCR does 330bhp on the stock manifold, so should do more on a better manifold. I wouldn't bother with anything more than the GTRS (GT28), the GT2871R version spools very slowly I believe.

GTRS turbo for LCR/TT/S3, etc.: http://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/merchan...&Product_Code=ATP-VVW-164&Category_Code=VVWTK

I was hoping to break 310bhp+ with full bf turbo back, fmic, wmi, hybrid and high flow manifold, maybe I need to rethink, the turbo dynamic hybrid says they are good for 340bhp with a high flow mani.

This kit is very seldom talked of for the LCR and I wonder why? Before yesterday I had no idea that this was available but it seems like it both works and performs well. I think I might have to consider this for the future and it won't make the Stage 2 mods worthless. I'll be addinf rods and LSD to the mix before hand though, maybe even a manifold should one come out.

i dont know why but i remember these kits being known as very unreliable? think they used to spit the bearings out? i was thinking of fitting one years ago on an s3, is this not the case then? as it would be a very good purchase wouldnt it,i think i spoke to star about them, might be worth a call before anybody buys as i think it was a mare on the fwd applicants, i may be wrong but would rather say just in case, daz

FWD yes, but these are for the S3/TT 4WD and LCR variants, so the manifold has the turbo sitting higher up. DPJ and csd_19 still have the GTRS turbos years later (FWD versions), so are those reliable?

As far as I remember Star fitted quite a few of these turbos to TT's, S3's, etc.

like i say just what i was told at the time, and after looking on other forums it seems to be a case of some people swear by them others have had issues, plus they are apparently on a mk2 now?

400 ... no danger! The GTRS turbo was maxxed out at 330bhp, the GT2871R is choked by the small manifold opening. You might see 350 with a hi-flow manifold, FMIC, etc. but highly unlikely to see anything more than that.
