window will not go down

my driver side window stopped workin i have tested the switch is ok the motor gets very hot when trying to put the window down anyone had the same prob and can anyone tell he how to get the motor out thanks

have you checked the cables goin from the car to the door?

this happend to mt dads alhambra, not too sure about the warm motor

but, the cables were starting to break down because they were rubbing on the metal due to the cables being too tight.

i have checked the cables they are all fine i heed to take it out but the window is up can anyone help

If u go to Halfords and pick up a haynes manual on the Ford Galaxy it shows you how to remove the door card,window and motor.
Sounds like the window may be off the runner or has jumped the cam and gone out of line as motor is trying to force window down but cannot do so thats why it is getting hot.

If the window doesn't go down and the motor gets hot when you try to lower it, I would say the window mechanism is stuck and you are overloading the motor.

remove the door card and have a look for anything that may be broken and jamming it.
